Hamilton really handled the loss with so much maturity. I wish him all the best at Ferrari. I think we will look back on his career as having such a positive impact on the sport.

Lol, the day the safety car rules were changed to manufacture some drama.
This race and it’s arbitrary flip flopping soured me to the sport after watching it for decades. I attended the MTL race as normal but completely let my F1 app expire and haven’t really been back to the fervor of before.The gloss rubbed off.
It’s a spot of born rich millionaires, driving for Billionaires, to entertain middle class folks while being the least environmentally conscious sport that exists to visit countries with the worst human rights records.
I can still remember watching in disbelief as only certain cars were allowed to unlap themselves. There was a long video on YouTube with all the driver radios during the safety car and it was a complete shit show. It got removed for “copyright reasons” aka the FIA sweeping it under the rug.
The biggest blight on the sport in decades. I cannot state the rage I felt when I saw them only unlapping the cars in between Verstappen and Hamilton. It felt like my love and trust for the sport was shattered in a way that I’ve never seen before. It was just so blatant.

It’s again time of the year
This season is the embodiment of “10/10 show but the ending is shit”. Still go back to watch the races. Even the races that look boring on paper like USGP. Nothing really happened but those last 10 laps were nerve racking.

I started missing practice sessions then I started not altering plans on race weekends.
After 20 or so years of watching F1 I got my weekends back. Now, I’ll watch them if I am home and nothing else on but that day certainly dulled the shine of my support for the sport
That season was a straight up brawl of a title fight…. It shouldn’t have been decided by Masi. It didn’t deserve that.
Hamilton is an 8-time WDC in my book. Completely unprecedented bullshit in that race.
Never before have just the cars between the WDC contenders been allowed to unlap themselves but not those afterwards. It completely fucked over people fighting for points.
I really hope and pray that Hamilton get his 8th championship in Ferrari, something he should’ve had that night had Massi not rigged the rules against him.

Kinda lost interest in F1 after this race. Can’t take a sport seriously when the ref ignores the rule book and makes us new rules at the cusp of the moment. Formula one has never been the same for me since this race
The safety car fiasco still makes me upset
It was a shame that such a great season had to end on a such a hollow note, and I’m saying that as someone who was supporting Verstappen in 21.
In 2021 I was even supporting max and was absolutely sick of the Hamilton era, but this was the biggest scandal I remember seeing in F1 (same level as crash gate). A complete joke and result manipulation.
For me, F1 has not been the same since then. I have found it harder to enjoy it like I did after what happened. I still like it but it feels different now. Like kinda tainted a bit.
Toto should have asked bottas to crash the car on the track on the last lap of safety car after the “only the lapped cars between 44 and 33 can unlap” manipulating for manipulating sake…
