I think you will just pry or pop it off. Probably held in place with spring clips or something similar.
Pull straight down. They are typically held in place by wire “V” springs. Good chance the cover might be painted in place. Use a putty knife to get between it and the ceiling if you can’t pull it down with your fingers/fingernails. If it is painted in place then you should score the paint around it with a utility knife. The cover will come down two or three inches then stop. You will need to pinch together the “V” springs with your fingers to get the cover all the way off.
Typically they are held up by a spring. If you pry on the side it should pull out and you can unclip it.
