I don’t mind it at all and I appreciate the extra security.
What I don’t like is googlemail locking me out my account even when I can enter my password and phone code just because I cleared my cookies and changed VPN server.

So the way I beat this. I use extremely complex passwords that I just saved on my phone and auto login and every month I reset my phone thus I have to go through and reset all my passwords. I never remember any of them, but I’m never insecure either.

I don’t mind it though some implementations are cumbersome. I never know if it’s an email, a text, or some authenticate app. I create my passwords using a password vault app and make each one unique. No 2 sites use the same password. In fact, the only password I know is the one to the password vault. Otherwise, I simply copy and paste from the vault to the login form.
What I hate is the sites that don’t let you change a password by pasting in a complex password. You have to type the password twice to change it. That means I have to create a password that isn’t 20+ characters long. Basically, they force users to dumb down their passwords.

PKI is much more secure and convenient. It’s a shame it’s not supported more

It’s slightly annoying for me because I have an Alcatel 3082x 4g flip phone from 2023 so I need to use a computer if the code gets emailed. But I appreciate the extra security and would prefer to have this rather than get my shit stolen/leaked.

I understand why it’s necessary. But I wish it wasn’t necessary.

2FA is good for financial stuff, like on PayPal. If you put 2FA on my OS, even I might switch to Linux, as much as it pains me to configure it to just work.

Google: “Scan this code with a phone to login”
Me : “I AM ON MY PHONE!!!”
