FYI for those who don’t know, the manga this film is based on was written and drawn by an actual survivor of the Hiroshima bombing, and he and other survivors worked as consultants on this film. He drew out what he actually saw during and after the bomb hit, and despite this being animated it brings a real gut-wrenching, and at times very horrific, authenticity you won’t see in many other similar films.
