I’d buy that for a dollar.

you can also not pay for things, but you didn’t hear that from me

Yes, but you save 20 to 30% if you buy before the looming tariffs, so there’s that.

Reading?

30 laws of black friday!

Canโ€™t help but feel for the poor souls ready to discuss Tolstoy, only to end up deep in a thread about Reading FC. Peak tragicomedy.

They Live

I wish I could take advantage of this sale :/

Maybe. When I was much younger, there was a furniture store near us, and for Black Friday one year they meant to put up a sign that said HALF OFF ALL LIVING ROOMS, but they received and somehow, without noticing, put up a sign that said

HALF OFF ALL LIVING THINGS

Far out, I saved 100% this year!

Black Friday is always a rip off. There used be good deals a few years maybe a decade back, but now you actually get better deals closer to Christmas

Julius approves this.

Damn I thought that was Northampton for a minute.

Got my entire family’s Christmas gifts for the price of one PS5 game. Best. Deal. Ever.

Good savings with this strategy

Iโ€™ve always found Thanksgiving to be hypocritical. Putting aside the neglected role of the natives (and the war/genocide) in the Thanksgiving story, I have found itโ€™s appalling that within 24 hours of claiming to be thankful for what you have people will go out to the store and fight with their neighbors to get that TV at 75% off. If you are truly thankful for what you have would you really need a day to remind you?

That is why Britain is rather hard to start a business in. There is such thing at too much frugality

The idea was originally to shop during the sales for Christmas gifts that you would *already otherwise buy*, thus saving money in comparison to buying them at full price. That stops being feasible when nothing you’d actually care about getting as a gift for someone is really on sale though. It’s now just a way of companies trying to get rid of their backstock, rather than companies doing a short term volume based (rather than margin based) model, since the main downside of a volume based model with physical product is warehousing (and logistics of moving) the product.

technically

Thatโ€™s what I just told my homeboys yesterday..ainโ€™t buying shyt. Cause guess what..$5, $10, $15, $10, $20, $20..Thatโ€™s stuff add up. Then you going from store to store. Nah Iโ€™m good..onโ€™ need nothing

Duuuuuuuuh

That’s a steal!

Is Black Friday even a thing anymore? We have received almost no Black Friday mailers (when we used to be inundated with them) and I havenโ€™t heard any news stories about crazy people lining up outside stores at 3am anymore.ย

what am i saving for? to buy stuff.

True!!

This should be your 50 year retirement plan

We get it Patagonia, we suck./s

Looks like it might not even be in the US

So we stealing?

There are some folks at least five fingers ahead of the curve. <_<
