I’m spending now before Trump’s inflation. Just bought a new EV. The $7500 federal credit was the deal breaker. He will kill it. Computer old so that’s next. Appliances and HVAC up to date at least for next 5-10 years. Going to bee a real shit show with this moron.
Maybe because it’s the last xmas season before prices erupt, the economy collapses, and the constitution suspended indefinitely.
I was chatting with a clerk at a store. She said – well everyone I know is traveling because gas has gone down now.
I did a double take. It’s the same price right now as it was the day before the election, two months before the election. I’ve paid $3.15 a gallon for ages now. I took a picture of the gas pumps the day after the election. It hasn’t changed.
I told her this. She shrugged, “well that’s what they’re saying.”

There’s legitimate things about the economy that I do believe are fucked and have to be addressed. While true wages have gone up, housing has gone up as well causing many people who are even making $21 to $25 an hour to have to move in with their parents or random people and have roommates into their late 20s or 30s. This is something that did not happens years ago. The dollar simply does not travel as well now. But unemployment is down and for the most part people are decently employed. Consumer debt and medical debt are also are record highs as well. I think this proves that yes some people have money which will lead to consumer spending, but also the poor barely hanging on are also spending to simply live life. This also leads to the consumer debt issue as well.
I hope the majority of the money spent is because intelligent people are buying now knowing everything is going to be a mess after January 20. I know I will be cutting as much spending as possible after Jan 20, and try to only spend with Democracy supporting businesses.
Buying is high now for fear of the MAGA tariffs, especially in electronics.

Gas= religious freedom, science, education, intellectualism.

I made the decision to buy the materials for the flooring project before the tariffs set in. Not planning to get it done till next year. Not saying these people are doing that, especially since the majority of people don’t seem to understand how tariffs work. Likely it’s just more of the same buying superfluous shit that no one really needs because it’s on sale.
I bought more than I ever normally would on Black Friday in preparation of the shit storm to come. New butcher knives for butchering cheaper cuts of meat, a deep freezer and a bunch of spices and grains that are imported from other countries.
Getting everything you need before the tariffs

People know with the upcoming tariffs they soon won’t be able to afford any this they’re buying while they can. So surprise records were broken.
Wouldn’t it be great if we had both a recession, a housing market bubble burst followed quickly by a depression and record number of bankruptcies because people used credit cards only to lose their jobs 5 months after going crazy, in celebration, of the orange one winning? Then we get to listen to everyone blame Biden for the next 5 years while we try to dig out of it.
They are buying now before tariffs.Our economy is based on consumer confidence. Trump will destroy that in the first month and people will no longer spend, hence a recession or even worse a depression. Edit: And it mostly things we need like cat food and litter, toilet paper, tennis shoes, dish soap, nonperishable food, otc medication, etc.
Prices on literally EVERYTHING are about to spike. You’d be a fool to not make the bigger purchases you know you will need in the next four years, before Drumpf takes over. You’re on drugs if you think shit’s gonna get cheaper after that.

I swear the only times it seemed like a Presidential candidate was described as horrible were Hillary, Kamala, and Trump. But then it was Hillary and and Kamala that I heard or read that they were “unlikeable”.
