…this is very kind. Thank you for including me on this incredible list of goodness. Very humbling.

I personally had a great interaction with Danny Trejo at a convention. My friend and I didn’t know everything was cash only at the convention and spent the only cash we really had on George Romero who was grumpy and miserable.

Danny Trejo was the other headliner. We wanted a picture and autograph but only had $10 left so we waited in line for a group picture. He was very friendly and after the photo asked what we wanted signed. We apologized and told him we were broke, but were big fans and happy to get a picture. He then took the $10 we paid for the picture and gave it back then signed 2 posters from the film Machete for us. He was so sweet and seemed to really love interacting with everyone.

Lillard was shooting at Third Rail when I was bartending at a newly opened fast casual spot in Chamblee called Blue Top. He popped in to have a beer and watch baseball. Introduced himself as Matt, told us what he was working on, and was super chill.

I have had 2 encounters with her and she was genuinely very nice: Lucy Liu.

I won Laker game tickets at work and they were donated by some millionaire that donates a lot of money to that organization, so they were in this VIP section behind the team. I won 2 tickets, but it was so last minute that no one I invited was able to go, so I went by myself. She saw me sitting alone and about halfway through the game, she started turning to me to include me in her conversation with the man she was there with. She introduced herself, asked me questions about what I do, etc. So, so sweet of her.

Christina Hendricks. She’s so lovely I met her in an event in Scotland and she made sure to talk to everyone, take pictures and sign autographs for free and she even fend off the security who was telling people to stay away.

John Candy

Not an actor, but Mike Judge is supposed to be one of the coolest people in Hollywood.

He gave away a significant portion of King of the Hill to his co- creator.

Weird Al

Henry Winkler

Dolly Parton

Paul Rudd

Used to hang out with Giancarlo Esposito before he got his breaking bad gig. He took me to a movie premiere once.  Really happy for him. He was having it rough financially with I think 4 daughters. He kept grinding and now he’s in everything he wants to be in.  I lost his number years ago but it doesn’t matter.  Proud of you G!

Robin Williams in particular was an example of humble kind guy in Hollywood

-he includes homeless people as extras by contract

-supported veterans and wasn’t even afraid to entertain troops in war zones

-supported woman rights, literacy with his appearances

-never acted as he was full of it , allways down to earth when you approached him

-had kind, caring soul

so many people in the business speak highly of Keanu Reeves. He’s just one of those people that truly understands the word Modesty and how it applies to someone of his higher status (ie wanted actor paid in the millions) in everyday life.

Freddie Prinze Jr but he’s no longer seen as big time anymore. Never heard a bad thing and had personal experience in Hawaii. My family and him landed at the same time and waiting to be picked up. My sister was in awe (I barely knew who he was) and he came over and just said hi and started talking to the family. SMG came and picked him up with her hat down across her face and he laughed and told her who are you hiding from (it was night time). Thought it was truly a nice interaction just for any person.

Cassandra Peterson AKA Elvira, Mistress of the Dark is supposedly the nicest person you’ll ever meet according to multiple sources

Bryan Cranston

I was just commenting about him in another post the other day. I met his personal assistant years ago and she said he’s an amazing person.

Kate Hudson

She was married to my cousin back in the early 00’s when I was ~10 years old and I spent Thanksgiving one year at their place in NYC. I ended up getting sick and she took care of me and made me at home. I’ll always remember that.

Lillard is a HUGE fan of local LA theater – love a big supporter of the arts!

Brendan Frasier

Jennifer Love Hewitt.

The next one, I’m unsure if she really is responsible for what happened or not, but Mariska Hargitay.

Here’s the story:

A special needs student I worked with many years ago was into crime dramas. Thai student became fixated on Mariska Hargitay. As part of my job, I was paired with this student to make party plans for her 21st birthday. That included invitations.

My student was set on in i tong Ms Hargitay to her party, the best I could come up with was sending a letter to NBC studios. I can’t even remember whose name we used on the address, but I escorted my student to mail the letter she’d typed out and printed to include with her party invitation. Honestly, life went on and I kind of forgot about it. My student’s birthday came and went. Note- we sent invitations out a month or so in advance.

About 3 weeks after my student’s birthday, I arrived at work one morning to be greeted by a thrilled newly 21 year old. She had a brown envelope clutched in her hands. She was so excited, wouldn’t slow down telling me all about how Mariska wrote back.

Inside the envelope was a typed letter of apology that “I can not attend your party…” and a signed 8×10 publicity photo. But the letter was also signed. In blue pen. I don’t know if some NBC employee happened across the invitation and humored a real sweet young lady or if Mariska Hargitay actually signed that letter, but the letter, not the photographed was framed and on the student’s nightstand for the remainder of the school year. It was a residential school. The student graduated that year and this interaction was the highlight of her existence.

Either way, I will forever love Mariska Hargitay.

Daniel Radcliffe.

Drew Carey paid for striking writers and their families to have free meals for months, running in the millions of dollars, and initially refused to take any credit until it was leaked

He’s not an actor per se but a celebrity nonetheless and a personal hero of mine, Conan O’Brien.

I’ve only heard good things about Milla Jovovich.

Gary Sinise, his work for veterans is astounding.

Sorry to burst your bubble but when Matthew Lillard was in high-school, he along with his friend, murdered like 4 people. I thought he had died, but then he went on to become a privste investigator, which I found ironic.

Chris Tucker. I used to wait on his mom. One day he popped in the restaurant and asked “Where’s the white boy with long hair that keeps giving my momma tiramisu?”
I raised my hand awkwardly, he walked over to the bar where I was waiting on a drink for a customer, pulled five hundred bucks in cash from his pocket, handed it to me, said “Thanks for being a nice guy to my moms, she speaks highly of you. But can you do me a favor?” I said “Sure, what is it?” “Make her order the healthier stuff, her doctor isn’t happy with her blood pressure.”

I laughed and agreed, he dapped me up, and left.

Bill Hader has no enemies. Everybody adores him.

Danny McBride and Walton Goggins. I’ve met Danny a few times and Walton once and they’re both incredibly friendly and occasionally go into character briefly or say lines if you mention some of their past characters are your favorites.

During the height of Lost we were on a red eye and Michelle Rodriguez was also in coach. My kids were huge fans of the show and met her as we exited. Though obviously exhausted she was sweet as can be and posed for pics. The exact opposite of her image pre Fast and Furious. Love her for that moment.

Robin Williams

John Candy

Brendan Frasier

David Schwimmer

Keanu Reeves

Adam Sandler

Tom Hanks

Hugh Jackman

Keanu Reeves, Steve Buscemi.

John Candy seems like a guy who everyone liked

The actor for anakin, I’m horrible at spelling. But he was so nice! So was the actress for Ahsoka and Charlie cox!!

Lee Pace. We met him at Comic-Con and he was thrilled to sign my DVD of The Fall. He was so excited to hear that someone liked the movie as much as he did. I had my Fall shirt on and he told me he loved my shirt as we were going in for our photo op.

Adam Sandler

why has no one mentioned Danny Devito?? Don’t think I’ve ever heard a single bad thing about him.

Jack black

Hugh Jackman

Gary Sinise

I used to work on celebrity photo shoots.

Jon Lovitz is one of the nicest, most considerate people you’ll meet.

I left the job thinking: “hmm, how can I be more like him?”

Lavar Burton is everything you want him to be if you meet him in person. Came into my work on earth day one time wearing a vintage Captain Planet shirt and said “Earth!” He came in a couple more times and was so nice about all of us gushing over how much Reading Rainbow meant to us as kids.

Turns out he was in town to direct an episode of NCIS. One of my buddies does lighting and said everyone is always stoked when Burton will be directing an episode.

Elijah Wood 🙂

I was the last in his line at a Comic Con one year  and he stood and talked to me for like 20 minutes. We ended up talking about our kids and how it is so important for them to be around family/cousins. It genuinely felt like we were friends afterwards! Haha

Mind you this is AFTER he had met and talked to and took pictures with thousands of people that day. I was the last one and he was probably exhausted, but he was so kind and just wanted to chat. It really made an impression on me. He didn’t have to stand and chat with me but he did. It’s one of my favorite days of all time 🙂

This is cheating because I’ve worked with them, but Ewen McGregor and Jeffrey Wright are very kind and incredibly down to earth.

They really did Matthew Lillard dirty by not casting him as Shaggy in “Scoob!”

Keanu Reeves

Jon Bernthal

Gary Sinise. I really like how he supported the veterans.

Henry Winkler. Met him myself and he was the sweetest. Everyone else seems to have similar experiences. Hes a national treasure

I worked with Lady Gaga a couple times right around when she exploded in popularity. I was a lighting and sound tech at a Chicago nightclub. Most celebrities treat me like a pion “the help”. She was very kind and respectful. She treated me like my skills mattered. After she got really popular, she came through again and asked for me by name. Class A fuckin act.

Lil’ Jon gave me a bottle of P’atron and was super chill. I have no idea how he could see in sunglasses in a dark ass nightclub.
