My blood pressure always measures in the normal range, except when the doctor uses one of these wrist cuffs. Then it sometimes reads insanely high.

Am a provider. I’d stay clear of Reddit for medical advice if you’re under medical observation. I say this knowing full well Redditors have found all kinds of crazy one off shit no one else would think of besides Dr House. However, given things we don’t know, like your current medications regiment, precipitating events, family history, failed medications, etc. the information you get here, could cause you more stress and harm.
I know being in your situation sucks at the moment, I am a sufferer of severe hypertension and I am on 3 medications. Give the team the ability to handle the situation. If you don’t feel like they are getting the problem solved, get a second opinion. I’m sure given your numbers, you see a cardiologist as they manage BP better than any GP or ER doc in the long run.

Reading all these comments of people being taken back in the ER and stroke alerts for their high blood pressure and I was literally told nothing was wrong with me at 210/122 and discharged me with a 180 systolic over 100 and something diastolic.
The right side of my face was drooping and my right eyesight was blurry. Lmfao I want to cry. Because I’ve had horrible issues since.
