I take the shopping cart to the thing cuz I get to ride it like a scooter
Germany broke the system by needing to put in a coin to get the cart and getting the coin back when returning the cart
Do shopping carts in your country not take a coin/token hostage? Here you have to insert a coin into the cart for it to unlock. The coin is returned once you lock it again.
The value of that coin is less than a dollar and I couldnt care less about it, but I will need a coin to unlock a cart the next time I go shopping and I do not want to carry many coins with me. So while I would return it even without the coin lock thing, I cant say there isnt a clear incentive to return the carts.
Not that I’m some saint—read my history and you know I’m not—but I both return my cart and attach two or three more on my way back to the corral. Be a decent person and put your cart away.
I always return it or push it to a convenient spot.
Except that one time a douchebag in a Porsche double parked in the middle of the lot. That cart was placed as close as I possibly could without it touching, his passinger door.
This is one of the tasks in sobriety. Take the shopping cart back every time. Why? Because we said so, every time. It changes you just a little bit.
I return the shopping cart because it isn’t asked of me, I also don’t make my bed because it is asked of me. Girl Boss.

Not only do I return the shopping cart (because of a coin-loci mechanic that gives me back my 50 cents if I return it) but I also take it from the longest line and return it to the shortest line
I take all of the carts out of the corral and spread them all over the parking lot

I will always return the damn cart to the corral. Even in the pouring rain, if i have to walk across the entire parking lot. It is my civic duty to make sure that the fucking cart gets home safely.
If you think you are a hero, then I am a superhero. I return my carts to the store, AND when I arrive at the store, I take a cart from the cart corral and push to the store.
Because it’s a hazard to people trying to find a parking spot?

Even in France, where you have to return it to get your coin back, people can be really inconsiderate.
They’ll put it in the longest line, even though it already spills into the road.
as someone who’s been in service jobs since being a teen. There’s a lot people simply don’t think and will choose to not do because it will take slightly more effort. I don’t think the whole world is this way but it’s surprising to see how much is the first time around.
If you return it you get the money you placed in it back.
I tend to grocery shop as needed and not in bulk, so I carry a basket and return it to the front after I check out
Same but for people that don’t wipe the machine or put back the plates once their done in the gym
I return my carts; I don’t begrudge those who don’t. People who believe they can take such a minuscule piece of information about an individual and make value judgements about their worthiness as a person are frightening.
You know what? After I’ve spent nearly double what I used to AND have to do my own check out without a discount, I sometimes feel like, fuck this place— pay a human to at least come out and gather these scattered carts! At least that’s a paying job! Why do we have to do all the work for these price gouging bastards and try to feel good about it??!!!
Ahhhh, but now we must consider that shopping carts being left astray all across the parking lot does contribute to job creation.

I’m from Europe , always had to put cash in it and get it back when done, was shocked when was in America and just seeing boys just throw their trolley in the car park, lazy af
