These criminals should be charged with medical fraud for interfering with medical assistance.

It took me over 6 years to pay off my medical debt when I went to the ER. Turned out it was kidney stones also and they just gave me a strainer to piss in. Great times we live in.

Your hospital is out of whack. Typical CT Scan is $500-$2000 depending on your location and what part of the body is being scanned.

Bro…I’m so sorry that your medical system is so cooked. In New Zealand we consider our system to be pretty flawed but a trip like this would cost us $50 to $100 at the very most…Thats like 30 USD.

People want “health insurance” but it’s really the providers who are fucked up.
Health insurance is like a stupid expensive pre-payment plan and everyone acts like it’s so great. We act like healthcare providers are these gods who are beyond criticism when they are the ones ripping us off.

That final amount goes to insurance and insurance negotiates it down to 1,000$ then denies to pay anything on your claim and ur stuck paying 1,000$. Even though you pay 400$ monthly through work and in turn work pays the other portion of 1500$ monthly.

I’ve heard of some people calling their insurance provider saying that they will literally mail them Band-Aids instead of paying $40 for a Band-Aid charge, I would call and go down through the breakthrough of all of these charges because a lot of times they add up extras for no reason, I’m not an actual professional. I’m just a mom. It’s a lot about this. Sending lots of love.

Oh, believe me, I’m not defending “the system.” But I don’t think that so-called single payer is the way to go. You have to get costs down at the source.
Tell me, if when you were hurting you were able to go on-line and see from an official website that the hospital in Mayberry charged $12.3K for a CAT scan, but that the hospital in nearby Hootervile charged only $475, would you still have gone to Mayberry? Especially if the other charges were proportionate.
Comparison shopping works. But hospitals have colluded to prevent that. When was the last time that a hospital gave you a firm price BEFORE they made you sign and drugged you up? If a transmission shop or air conditioning mechanic tried something like that their owners would be doing seven-to-ten behind bars. Why do we give a pass to hospitals?
A truly free market is better than single-payer. But we haven’t had that since before 1965.

I got billed 24k for neck injections once. Was there for maybe 20 minutes.
Found a small time pain management MD would did the injections for around 5k. And those ones WORKED.
This is what legal thievery looks like. And before anyone says anything about ya know “stuff”, they used to shoot horse thieves. Just sayin.

I took my wife in for an MRI 13 years ago. We were there less than an hour, and my bill was nearly $6,000. Half the time we spent there was in a waiting room. Crazy world we live in.

This is too vague I’d call your insurance and sort this out. Drugs is too vague plus the er cost in general.
