When I was in High School I wrote this bar, and I’ve never been the same since.
“Legend says that before the battle of Fredericksburg, the roses in this valley used to grow pure white, white as snow. Now, for as long as living memory can tell, they’ve grown a deep, dark red.”

I remember being so hyped about a song I made before going back to my parents and listening to my dads old cassettes and realizing I just stole it from from 80s college band.

Lol what is “accidental plagiarism”? Either you knowingly steal something or you came up with it yourself.
Just because someone came up with something similar before you doesn’t mean you stole it.

I wrote a report in high school for a social studies class on Sikhism and for some reason gave it to my parents to read before turning it in (they weren’t helicopter parents or anything like that so it wasn’t normal). My dad called me to the living room and started asking me questions about details and I suddenly realized he thought I had plagiarized it. I showed him all my sources and some draft copies on the computer and he finally believed that I had written it. It was bizarre because while I wasn’t a straight A student, I was very close to it.
Since then I sometimes second guess my writing as coming off too monotone or impersonal when writing emails.

What kills me is when I write a line that I really really like but it actually doesn’t work in the context of the paragraph. So I’ll try to make it work but end up having to say goodbye to that that sentence.

I think it’s safe to say “your” not a writing genius.
> your a writing genius
Yeah it’s plagiarism, delete it
Certainly not a writing genius with “your”
Turns out it was shit and it seemed good only from your perspective
