OK, I’ll put this out there as someone who’s worked both sides. Windows is not a bad OS. Microsoft is just not a good corporation.
Meanwhile, this site is likely running on Linux servers because they can’t be beaten for stability, and I assure you, it looks nothing like windows.

Wubuntu is a pretty shady and I won’t recommend anyone actually use it
Microsoft. Windows is just a bunch of ones, zeroes arranged in a way that can communicate with hardware, same as every operating system. The company makes the software, so anything the software does like show you ads is because Microsoft told it to it and gave it the ones and the zeroes to do it with
Nerd moment: Wubuntu was great when it came out. You could install it besides Windows, on your NTFS partition. It was not dual-boot but like a single file. And Ubuntu had the bling-bling Compiz effects and spinny cube. Hate all you want, but it was like a desktop from the future for all the newbies.
Now it’s all gone.
I use windows for work because that’s what the company puts on their desktops, at home I’ll game on windows but everything else happens on Linux.
i’m not even a linux user but you should know linux is more than just one distro
