Black Lives Matter / George Floyd protests 2020-21? Policing hasn’t changed in any meaningful way.
Protests against Israel-Palestine crisis / Hamas war 2021, 2023-24? U.S. still staunchly in support of Israel.
Standing around holding signs hasn’t changed shit since the ’70s.
If U.S. citizens want anything to actually change they need to take a page from the French protests- one way or another either things change for the better for the people or the people will burn it all down.

I am pretty sure those are the union strikers in front of various SF Hotels this past week, so while they might also be discussing healthcare plans, this is definitely not a healthcare specific protest!

This is not correct information. I live here, these are hotel workers on strike. They’ve been on strike for months especially around the Marriott chained hotels by Union Square.

Without non-violent shows of protest, all we will see is violent revenge–this is way better. Petitioning the government is better. With any luck, the petitioners will be recognized before any more bloodshed breaks out.
Wallstreet had protests. It’s just a matter of time before the news dies down. We have a right to protest. In the us, I have yet to yet to see a protest affecting any change. Taking time off work, not getting paid etc will always keep participation low. We need to learn from France.
