The USB logo is supposed to be up if they are following the standard.
And yet I still find this entirely accurate.
Back when I was working at BlackBerry I got in a debate with another engineer who worked on something involving USB. He was adamant that user was wrong. That there is nothing wrong with USB because the standard is to put the logo at the top. I asked him how he managed to go his whole life without having to plug in a vertical-standing USB port that he couldn’t see.
The rule of superposition, the USB stick will remain in superposition until observed.

USB connectors are a terrible design. Every airport I have been in that offers free USB, they are almost always broken. Now the electrical outlets almost always work.

On my laat pc build, I plugged in 5 usb cables in a row on the first try. What a rush!
Then came watch chargers into the USB hub and.. we’re back to normal
USB is 4 dimensional
USB-C version:
1. Try once
2. Flip and try again
3. Look at the connector “oh it’s USB-C!”
4. Try again on any side, it goes in
Even worse is Micro USB. Not only is it even more difficult to get turned the correct direction, it’s also fairly fragile compared to other USB plugs and you stand a pretty good chance of damaging the plug, or the port, or both. The weird thing is that companies being cheap were using the old stock of Micro USB around something like 5 years ago—and a lot are *still* using that today—while Mini USB seemed like it was phased out pretty quickly across most electronics once Micro USB started to become common flagship phones.

I accidently ripped off my usb port by walking in the headset wire.
The usb socket is gone leaving metal pins but suprisongly enough, it’s still working and it now works from any side.

USB will remain in QP (or quantum position. also called “super position”) until observed. By measuring it’s position the USB drops from quantum state to fixed position and can be interfaced.
