Boomer here – we iron so little our son didn’t recognise an ironing board in a picture book and thought it was a surfboard.

I iron and steam my clothes. Not all the time but anything that needs it, like work clothes.

I don’t iron everything, but some things are too wrinkled to not. What are people wearing, just sweatpants?

Some of us still have jobs we need to dress up for. I dress business casual most days and generally need to iron a shit once or twice a week.
Edit: Iโm letting it ride right down my leg.

Of course forgetting Gen-X is the most Gen-X thing…

Until last year, I genuinely thought ironing was โsomething of the past.โ As in, it was a fad in like the 40โs or 50โs.

I iron almost daily. If my main top is a tee shirt Iโll iron that. Feels good to step out of the house looking out together, even if the outfit is athleisure.

Not sure how people wear button up shirts at work without ironing. Even if you hang them up to dry when still a bit wet, it’s not the same. I hate ironing but shirts look like shit when crumpled up, it’s not that big of a deal to care about what you look like

This has more to do with the quality of the materials being used to make clothing with anti-wrinkle properties. (Quality may be a questionable term given the microplastics those same materials are putting in our bodies.)
