Marsupials are not comparable to felines or smt. It’s I lineage that you could compare to the placentals. Which has like every mammal except the marsupials (and monotremes).

If you want a fair comparison, pick placentals in general, or carnivores in particular. Both cats and dogs are literally one species—unless you’re referring to felines and canines, which then have just as much variety to them, at least by appearance, than marsupials
Feline and Canine are families, while Marsupial is a larger group containing several families, hence the diversity. That’s like comparing each member of one family one to another, doing the same with the members of another family and finally with the members of an entire school. One group will be somewhat more diverse
