What does she like?

Stardew valley

Animal Crossing new horizons

Zelda Breath of the Wild.

Just ask her what sheโ€™d want.

Zelda: Breath of the wild and a pro controller. I actually use the Xbox controller with the switch when itโ€™s docked. Get a 8bitdo usb dongle and bam. Gaming bliss

Pro controller

Captain Toad. Just do it.

Nintendo store on the Switch and download FREE demos to see which game she likes

A short hike – short cheap game, mentally chill, fly around and collect things and talk to quirky critters. Also fishing.

Little dragon cafe- run a cafe, gather ingredients, cook food , raise a dragon.

Rune factory 5 – farming, crafting, dungeon crawler, dating sim.

Pokรฉmon legends Arceus – open world Pokรฉmon game set in a historical time period.

Pokemon Arceus legends, stardew, cult of the lamb, Mario wonder

dark souls remastered obviously

If she plans on playing in handheld a lot, I’d suggest a Satisfye Ronin grip w/case bc it makes it comfortable to hold.

* 1 TB memory card from SanDisk.
* Tempered glass screen protector
* Pro controller for playing docked.

all the Zelda games.

ALL. OF. THEM.

Animal Well was really good. Deathโ€™s Door is one of my all time faves.

I will never understand posting your partner on Reddit

Animal Crossing!

Animal Crossing New Horizons.

And get the joystick caps, the screen protector, and a transportation case

And an SD card when you eventually run out of storage space, but IMO the internal storage space for the OLED is pretty big for nintendo games

i think u should ask ur wife what kinda games she likes

Suika Game

To test your relationship, get Overcooked

Get a fat memory card, at least 512gb Iโ€™d recommend, then get Switch Online & go crazy on the eshop and classic Nintendo games.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Untitled Goose Game and Pikmin are my wife’s favorites.

– a glass tempered screen protector

– a microSD card from Samsung or Sandisk (I would be wary of places like Amazon that commingles their stock, meaning that even if you buy from some reputed seller, the item can be taken from the stock of any seller and it could be fake. You will have to use a software to check)

– case

– maybe a pro controller

– check dekudeals to see when games are on sale. I personally like better to have physical games of first party games or games with a big size file. And digital copies of smaller games or very cheap ones.

I would suggest : stardew valley, BotW, maybe a pokรฉmon game like Scarlet Violet and if you already know the series : Pokรฉmon Legends Arceus. If you can get it cheap, Boomerang Fu as a fast easy to play party game.

Maybe a party game like Mario Kart 8 deluxe or Smash Bros… or a Mario Party game.

Accessories – Mobapad Joycons + Travel case, Skull&Co Thumbgrips for Rog ally/Steamdeck (fits mobapad joycon), Amiibo Link, Cart Case.

Games – Zelda BOTW/TOTK, Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley, Splatoon, Stories of Seasons (any version), Shin Chan games, Persona 5 royal, Super Mario Odyssey, Luigi Mansion, Pikmin series, Nino kuni 1&2, Sea of Stars.

Can’t go wrong with the stuff people have been recommending for the last 8 years

Hello!

Let us know what your wifeโ€™s tastes/interests are.

Some to look up and see;

Animal Crossing

Life is Strange

Spiritfarer

Breath of the Wild

Stardew Valley

Ori

Undertale

I believe It Takes Two is on Switch. No idea about the performance but that games is a fun co-op experience.

Some personal recommendations:

Mario Odyssey
Luigi’s Mansion 3
Mario 3D World
OKAMI HD
Mario Wonder
Celeste
Stardew Valley

When my wife was pregnant i bought her animal crossing new Horizon. That was 3 years ago and she is still hooked till this day lol

Edit: spelling

I donโ€™t know how nostalgic she is for the old Nintendo consoles but maybe get her a year of the NSO expansion pass.

you’ll get plenty of game recommendations here, so:

– at least a 256GB storage card. (1TB if you think you’ll be buying a lot of digital AAA games.)
– screen protectors ASAP!
– a basic soft case to protect it when it’s not in use.
– a controller for playing while docked. I just got an 8BitDo Ultimate controller on a Black Friday sale, you’ll see several other recommendations in this thread.

OK, at least 2 game recommendations:

– Okami is on sale on the eShop for $5.
– the Castlevania Anniversary collection is on sale on the eShop for $4. Whole bunch of classic retro games.

you might also want to browse the current eShop sale to see if there’s any other cheap stuff she’s interested in.

enjoy!

You need a MicroSD for storage. You can get a 512 GB card for pretty cheap off of Amazon and that should have you covered unless youโ€™re playing a lot of really big games. Nintendoโ€™s 1st party games are remarkably small so that wonโ€™t be an issue. I love Super Mario Odyssey, Stardew Valley, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and anything Zelda related. If sheโ€™s nostalgic for old games then the NSO subscription with the expansion pack is great. Itโ€™s like 60 bucks a year and weโ€™ll worth the price imo.

INFO NEEDED

Do you have children? Do they have access to their own Switch? Do you use other systems/consoles she already plays? Etc, etc, etcโ€ฆ

RE: Accessories

Even if you donโ€™t have children, 100% get a protective case, screen protector, etc. Somehow you/your child/pet/friend who was over for 20min/etc is gonna bump into it wherever you thought was safe and make it hit the ground.

Get the biggest microSD card you can

RE: Games

If you have kids, does she want games to play with them, or with you (co-op)? Does she have any gaming experience? If so, what games/genres has she liked previously?

Legitimately need info in order to offer solid recommendations

Animal Crossing. My wife spent hundreds of hours playing it, and I have no idea why. ๐Ÿคท

breath of the wild. seriously. I never in my life thought I would be a zelda person but my dad got it for me and I let it sit for a few months before getting curious (and bored of my current games.) Iโ€™ve never been more hooked to a franchise in my life. Itโ€™s lasted years now.

Stardew Valley

Animal Crossing

Balatro

Hollow Knight

If she likes handheld mode, HORI controllers

Get It Takes Two so you can play together, itโ€™s co-op. Played with my wife last year (although we played on PS5) and it was amazing. You need two controllers.

Screen protector and games I recommend is princess peach showtime, pokemon Violet or Sword, and mario party jamboree

Zelda Breath of the wild, Animal Crossing, & Mario Kart๐Ÿซก

Untitled Goose Game is fun!

Zelda
Smash
Kart
Luigi mansion
Portal 2
Broforce

Legend of Zelda BOTW and the other one

How are you going to gift your wife a console with no games๐Ÿคจ๐Ÿคจโ€ฆ

Like was she supposed to go to the store to buy her own game?

Untitled Goose Game is a fun one too! Also recommend Stardew, Animal Crossing, Zelda (any and all).
