Anyone who has seen “How It’s Made” would know that robots do most of the building of things today. Bringing more factories back to the US will use robots, not blue-collar work. The jobs to manage and build those robots will be for workers with expanded math and engineering skills that exceed the average Trump voter’s abilities.
There will be no training schools for 50-year-old washed-up losers.
Not only are they dumb enough to vote for Trump, they are dumb enough to believe the lies he told them.
They shit on desk jobs all day but suddenly desk jobs are too good for brown people.
Also the hubris of MAGA to assume they can just slot themselves into a high skilled, high paying technical job because they’re white

I went to college because my parents went to college, and they went to college because they were New Deal babies who were identified as gifted and encouraged to pursue higher education. More importantly, you didn’t have to go into debt to do it. Same with my generation. It was in Reagan’s era that govenment grants and scholarships got cut and the student loan scam got underway.
Anything to focus on the culture war instead of the class war
MAGA Voters: Didn’t take vocational classes in HS, rebuffed going to college, won’t enlist in the military, can’t obtain a CDL, refuses to work on farms, shuns construction work.
Also MAGA Voters: The immigrants and DEI hires are taking the jobs we don’t qualify for!

There could actually be method to this madness. MAGA wants more white babies. Education makes people have fewer babies. Slashing education funding and discouraging college will likely lead to more white babies being born. Those babies will likely have a shit life of poverty, but at least they’ll be white.
Meanwhile the educated Indians will get all the top jobs and stop breeding.

But that is also a lie. Plenty of educated Americans with engineering and science degrees to do these jobs. In fact, CS majors are having a very hard time finding jobs right now.
Musk just wants visa slaves he can mistreat and hold hostage on low pay rather than Americans who might demand things like decent compensation and benefits. Or, God forbid, might unionize!
It makes sense when you understand their agenda.

Educated/intelligent people are difficult to control without leverage. Imigration Status makes GREAT leverage.
Does anyone think these people will ever gain the self-awareness they are nothing but marks to their MAGA heroes? Or, as usual, will they wait for Fox News et al. to give them someone else to blame?

I’ve been saying this for years. People have dismissed it as elitist. “You think you’re better than me because I didn’t go to college. Going to college isn’t what makes you smart.” No, but it is what makes you qualified for many jobs. Now those jobs are going to go to people the bosses can exploit and pay less, because you thought learning something that might not have come easy to you was beneath you. Ho hum.
And it’s not even “we *have* to hire foreign engineers” it’s “boo hoo American engineers want a living wage in exchange for completing a brutally difficult degree and taking on $50K-$100K of student debt”.
