At this point it’s funnier to just leave it for another 40 years and see if it’ll actually unlock

Space Sloth still hits hard to this day

Remindme! 46 years

In this day n age I’m amazed there isn’t a repair tool that can bypass this. I really would have thought something like a JC Pro would have found a work around by now.

That picture is so 2012. I think I used it for my ipod touch as well.

Good. Now nobody can change the background and space sloth will live on.

24.025.150 minutes is approximately 45.68 years

2025 + 45.68 = 2070

The sloth will wait for you to free him

The claim of an iPod being disabled for 46 years is plausible due to a reset of its internal clock after a battery failure, which can lead to such extreme time displays. This phenomenon is tied to how older iPods handle incorrect passcode attempts and timekeeping, which can result in absurdly long lockout periods like the one mentioned. Sources discussing similar issues include a Reddit discussion on an iPod Touch disabled for 24 million minutes (https://www.reddit.com/r/applehelp/comments/woi1ox/ipod_touch_4th_generation_disabled_for_24_million/), an iFixit forum on iPod disablement (https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/54386/iPod+disabled+for+21++million+minutes+(can't+restore)), and an Apple Community thread (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7491864).

Just connect it to iTunes on a computer or take it to an Apple store.

Apple always did wild unnecessary stuff.

Have you tried using a time machine

The slothstranaut go crazy

You can factory reset it, but I think it’s working fine as it.

Itโ€™s just stuck on that episode of the IT Crowd where Roy says โ€œIโ€™m disabled!โ€

So, most Unixy systems (iOS included) uses Jan 1, 1970 0:00 UTC as the epoch, basically when time started. Anytime you see a huge timer like this, what you wanna do is take the minutes, multiply it by 60 to get seconds, and then see what the UNIX timestamp is. In this instance, it was likely expected to be disabled until September 6, 2015, but the battery died and the clock got reset to 1970

Imagine being so young that the TOUCHSCREEN IPOD is what you consider an iPod.

If that shit donโ€™t have a wheel on it I donโ€™t want it.

Cool background. I had Hulk holding a massive pair of jugs on my ipod. Good times

Hello im from the future, op forgot the pass 46 years later and now itโ€™s disabled for another 46 years again. So you all will have to wait 92 years instead of 46 years.. So sorry.

So this is what we do with blocked phones to entertain ourselves. Nice!

Was it jailbroken OP?

The fact that a sloth is your background tells me this cannot be real

Unless..?

ยกRemindMe 46 years /s

I donโ€™t want to alarm you, but you might not be able to update its software in 46 years.

What an accomplished sloth! ๐Ÿฆฅ

I never owned an iPod back then, would it really lock you out like this if you kept putting in the wrong code?

Connect it to iTunes!

Remindme! 46 years

Remind me again later on.

On older phones you can plug it into a computer, back it up then wipe and re install your data pretty easily with their older encryption. Same thing happened to my IPhone 3 being locked for a decade lol
