The fact that this went unpunished and Trump was able to run and get elected again is a historic failure of political elites in the US. In Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro was convicted within 6 month for trying the same thing. The complacency of the people running the democratic party is mindboggling.
The ensuing 4 years proved that we’re an unserious nation, unwilling to do the hard work of punishing those most responsible for this attack on a joint session of Congress.
I’m afraid things are going to get far worse before they get better.
