The Java and C# debate always makes rage where I am. It’s absolutely entertaining to be in those meetings. We even have a scoreboard.
I am grateful for so many young people despising Java, so I can keep my job until retirement

You choose java for the money. Banks pay well
Always choose Java and you are fine. It’s fast, strongly typed, and Spring is top notch.
What If i dont have a preprocessor in my head, and performance isn’t very critical, but I don’t want code that runs 1/70 x?
Java is a good option imo. C# is better imo, but I will also gladly take java over python (because of better syntax)
I don’t understand the hate toward Java, I learned OOP with it and LOVED IT. It’s just so intuitive & logic
As a C and C++ programmer, Python is my favorite linker.
Java is also good, good at summoning torturous memories of college where they forced us to use that piece of shit.

When people ask me if I know Java, I always say “Only for money”.
and I would add, if you’re writing a complex application where you don’t need a high execution speed, write in C# or Kotlin, honestly I don’t see the gain to put that in C++ except if you want to die

What language should we use if we need something that is relatively fast and can get to the market quickly? We would need something in between C++ and Python. I wonder what we would use 🤔
Python is good for running c++ but I dunno if I’d build an enterprise website with it

Every time I read or listen “snake language slow” what comes to my mind: the person doesn’t know how to write GOOD python.

Java is a great… idea of a language. Even C# made more sense.

If kotlin native was as performant as c or c++ and had used some other way of doing memory freeing other than garbage collector

Java is so much better than C and C++. Kotlin is better than Java and C# probably is too, but C and C++ have almost zero guardrails against bugs
Java can be a bit tedious but that’s basically its biggest flaw, which is not a big flaw at all
I’ll go so far as to say C and C++ are the two worst major languages
If you want speed, use a language you are familiar with that is low level. But also, don’t use C++, it makes it easier to make your code slow.
Don’t even use Java, just look for a better workplace.
