Well, you see, if you call it the Gulf of America, then all those Mexican trafickers and drug runners are clearly trespassing. And since trespassing is not allowed, they will stop running drugs and traficking, so aunt Marjorie doesn’t scold them or wag her finger at them.

This is easily one of the dumbest things I have ever seen put to a vote. This fixes nothing and is utterly pointless. If you’re going to put a bill to a vote why not make it one that fixes a real problem like housing or ensuring we have safe drinking water.
This Gulf of America bullshit is solving nothing of worth. She should be replaced as soon as possible.

So her logic is “Gulf of Mexico is a cesspool of crime so let’s rename it Gulf of America to remind everyone who the cartels are selling their wares too!” Typical MTG.
What makes her think that we have naming rights to the gulf? And does she somehow think that renaming will stop the cartels?
Using imperial units is not enough, Americans will soon have a different map than the rest of the world too.
The funniest thing about this to me is that they can call it the Gulf of america if they want, doesn’t mean any other country needs to start using their name for it.

Well the bird brain people of her constituents deserve their bird brain congress women.
And this eejit was relected in 2024. This is where my apathy kicks in…political party aside, this woman and much of congress literally get paid to do absolute nothing and hang out on twitter all day. They show up for controversial bills but otherwise do bumfuck all year round yet get relected when they raise millions of dollars every two years and the richest campaign wins because the public is so stupid and vote based on radio ads and name recall.
It’s a damn shame how americans allowed the USA to basically become the worlds most dangerous circus. The whole country is turning into a oligarchy right in front of our eyes, with at least 77 million of them actually sheeting for it, laughing at threats of invading allies while our enemies become stronger than ever. We will have 4 years of this hell, but make no mistake, trump and musk are making the moves to stay in power one way or another, and only time will tell if whatever is left american dignity can save it from its self inflicted path to destruction.
