“With all due respect” is a favorite phrase of mine because it doesn’t specify how much respect is due.

If they’re wrong, they’re wrong.

That’s why I don’t really like family gatherings

FYI, this is a toxic trait. I live with it too. Someone should be open to being corrected respectfully about something factual. If they aren’t, that’s a power issue and really is not healthy.

I’m too autistic to have such a weakness

The irony of posting this on Reddit, as though this is in any way, a place for intelligent debate.

It’s not disrespectful, it’s educational… right?

I correct my uncle all the time when he starts spouting his conspiracy theory nonsense. Especially when it involves how the government works or military matters.

my mom would fucking rotary uppercut me

This sounds like an Asian thing, cuz trailer park trash white kids don’t hold back

The unspoken rule in family meetings is that you let them talk while you stay in a corner doing your thing.

This does not exist when I’m around. When I was a kid, fuck it. I’m disrespectful. As an adult “hold up. Lil man been studying this shit. Let him speak.

If someone ever mentions my favorite franchises (which has a theory on it) and I’m holding myself back from mentioning the theory (I’m a theorist):

It is disrespectful to let someone you care about or admire continue spouting incorrect things. They look like an idiot when reciting nonsense.

Unless you correct them like a smartass. Then you suck.

Time to hurt feelings and get a new family. A sexier one in Alabama

I always tell them how it is. Im not disrespecting anybody

Say it anyways. How else they gonna learn? Fuck their ego.

I do it anyways

that’s such a toxic trait, but if you’re gonna correct someone at least do it respectfully, no need to rub it in hahaha.

In my family it’s not disrespectful, but positive because it’s exchange of experience. We learn new things from each other and it’s wonderful

This is how family fallouts start.
