Knobtop Mountain’s Panoramic Views: Captured with Ektar 100

In the heart of Rocky Mountain National Park, Knobtop Mountain stands tall, its rugged peaks and rolling hills offering breathtaking vistas of the surrounding landscape. Recently, I had the opportunity to capture its grandeur with my trusty Ektar 100 lens, and the results are nothing short of stunning.

The Location

Knobtop Mountain is a lesser-known gem within Rocky Mountain National Park, located in the southeastern section of the park. The mountain’s elevation ranges from 10,000 to 12,000 feet, with steep inclines and rocky outcroppings creating a challenging hike for even the most experienced trekkers. The views, however, are well worth the effort.

The Photography Equipment

For this shoot, I used my trusty Ektar 100 lens, a favorite among landscape photographers for its ability to capture the finest details while offering a shallow depth of field. The 100mm focal length allows for a compressed perspective, exaggerating the distance between the subject and the background, while the f/2.8 aperture provides a beautifully blurred background.

I also used the Graduated Filter tool to balance the contrast between the bright sky and the darker landscape, ensuring that both elements were showcased in harmony.

Results
