Well at this point Twitter is just a few degenerate right trolls and bots. It has no real users of value.

The real reason is likely because China isn’t sharing that information with the US government. After all, there is a stipulation in the law that if they sell it to a US company it won’t be banned. A US company who would then share all that data with the government.
One being bad does not mean the other one is good. Using X to somehow portray tiktok as a good platform is a serious logical fallacy.
Trump literally stole boxes of classified information, stashed it in an unsecured location, lied to the government about having it, claimed to have declassified them with his mind, then admitted on recorded audio that he knew they weren’t declassified.
The simple rubes of the land actually voted the biggest national security threat we have into office.
Most of our congress owns stock in Meta. They voted to ban the competition.

Giving the Chinese government that much influence over millions of Americans is a bad idea. One day, it’s eating tide pods or stealing Kias and, the next thing you know, there’s a “drive your car into a power substation challenge” that disrupts huge swaths of the US power grid because the CCP wants to cause chaos in America.
As for Elon, 75% of his net worth is literally Tesla stock. If you want him gone, stop buying his cars and crash his stock. If the US government wants him gone, they can nationalize Tesla.
Elon hasn’t disrupted America. He won’t disrupt America. He’s influencing politics by jumping on existing bandwagons that already have a lot of support (mostly from stupid prejudicial people) but he really isn’t causing any SERIOUS damage that wasn’t already being done. He’s an annoying little shit that sells rolling death traps but he isn’t capable of disrupting the TRULY important bits of this country.
The biggest danger we face right now is an epidemic of dumb and tiktok can help our enemies weaponize that. The first step in fixing the dumb is to make sure our enemies can’t make the existing problem worse.
