Recently had a 9 hour flight where the guy next to me had his screen broken and asked some women if he could switch with her so he could “sit with his friend”. I didn’t notice until it was too late or I would have called him out on it. I can’t believe she just stayed and dealt with it. You could tell she was super disappointed and annoyed.

We had that Sydney to LA. They were very generous with the free booze. We had our own very quiet party and they kept on bringing the drinks out of sympathy!

So, if you kindly complain to your airline, they will compensate.. flight attendants may not be able to do anything in the immediate tho

On a flight from America back to Australia my tv didn’t work, I got like $200 on inflight shopping. Because I’d never be able to use it again I went silly and got this primer with gold flakes in it and a handle of Jim Beam

You should have brought a steam deck and strap it to your chair above the screen

I slept through 12 hours flight, I was unconscious starting from take off until I was awoken by the landing. It was my greatest flex.

When I went to Brazil ( 5 hour flight) then (6 hour flight) from NYC to Rio a couple months back I happily downloaded some movies and shows on my phone from Netflix. It being a foldable helped as well. Try to have that as a backup next time if anything

I would politely ask the flight attendant for a better seat. If the plane is not full, you should get one.

That’s why you bring your tablet with shows or movies installed and music on your phone. Easy fix. Most of the time you will sleep anyways.

Bring your own device and headphones and download a bunch of films, tv shows, music, youtube videos etc that you can watch without wifi. And bring a book. Don’t rely on their screens.

This is exactly why I load up on my own entertainment for flights. Just in case.
I’ve got a 14 hour flight in August.

I just had this happen to me two days ago on a 12.5 hour flight. Flight attendant gave me an iPad mini connected to the planes wifi that let me watch the same movies as everyone else. Ran out of battery in like 2 hours but luckily I had a USB charger with me.

Imagine having the possibility of endless entertainment on a device you have in your pocket. But then you wouldn’t be able to flex about your long-haul flight on Reddit lmao.
