My granny used to read this to us when we where younger. I loved it. It does seem very.. disturbing but they are life lessons.

der Struwelpeter. a classic
This is from Der Struwelpeter. 19th century / early 20th century is was a popular children’s book. This isn’t even the worst punishment in there.
There is a parody of it made during WW2 by British (?) soldiers called ‘Der Struwelhitler’, which is exactly what you would expect. Basically, it’s a Hitler torture graphic novel.
