So I invited a bunch of people over for the game. I’m somewhat aware of the Drake beef, none of my friends are.
The faces I was making while watching Kendrick dance on Drakes grave werr *wild.*
I’m trying to explain things like “No, no that’s Serena Williams. She used to date Drake. This is a public execution.”

Remember after “the nipple incident” and all they had were Classic Rock for years? Don’t get me wrong, I love me some classic rock but a lot of those guys are way too old now.

Hell I’d take anything that isn’t hip hop or rap. Luckily it’s easy to change the channel.

It was boring. It’s a huge stage to perform, not just audibly but visually. The mic sounded like shit and it was just lame to watch him walk around. Great songs, but damn college marching bands are more exciting to watch.

Honestly, I couldn’t care about the music genre; it was just overall boring. The sense of grandeur and excess just wasn’t there.

The halftime show has been shit for many years now. It has nothing to do with being young or old. Shitty music is shitty music, regardless of genre.

Some parts were really cool like the clown car at the start and the red white and blue dancers tearing it up in the shape of the American flag. Pretty cool but yeah I understand how a band with more instruments can do more extravagant shows.

I can’t understand most of what Kendrick says during live performances and I’ve listened to him for years. Just imagine how much someone like my parents can’t understand. They checked out around song 2.

When I moved north of the mason dixon line, I thought I’d hear a little less country.
But in some parts of the north, you click on the radio and its: Church, CHURCH, Politics, Cow97, Cow95, ALLCOWNOCOUNTRY, COW, COW, one NON country station, AND MORE COW 89999999~~~~
I GET IT. You guys farm but holy fuck, give us some diversity. I have to basically tune into a station coming out the state next to me to get something that isn’t any of that.

Kendrick chose bad songs, when every 4th word is omitted or replaced with an adlib because it was a “dirty” word it ruins the show. The words that aren’t being self censored are either slang or need the omitted words to make sense.
I understand he was doing his latest popular beef songs for the fans and to bring more attention to them but he and his drama are not as well known as he thinks, the people en mass do not keep up with that stuff.
He has songs that would have gone over much better for the audience he was playing to. I think he have gone with ‘swimming pools’ or something like that.
My extended family had a super bowl party and everyone above 35 had no idea what he was even saying, I had to break down the songs for them after the show because they only heard jibberish. And they aren’t wrong to not get it, I wouldn’t either if I hadn’t heard those songs 100x last year.
Aside from that C walking during the super bowl is some real Idiocracy timeline confirmed ish.

Not a fan of kendrick or his music, but he did put on a well choreographed and well planned half time show. It entertained me, even when I wasn’t the target audience, as likely it did others who share my opinion of kendrick. So in that regard, I think it was a good show.

Maybe it’s just what I’ve seen, but both online and with the boomers at work there’s all the talk of “rap at the super bowl?”, but last year we had Usher (not rap, but it featured some rappers), and 2 years before that was Snoop with a bunch of other rappers.

I liked it, but it definitely wasn’t as flashy as people are used to, and it did sound like the audio equipment was kinda shitty. But I think everyone already knew what the reception was going to be like before it happened. But normally when I don’t like the halftime show I just walk away and do something else until the games back on.

Superbowl halftime shows have been getting progressively worse. Can we get something normal for once? 📉
I mean I think most Americans would rather see Chris Stapleton over some mix of crap they’ve never heard. I like Kendrick… but that was underwhelming AF. The audio clearly wasn’t tuned correctly because you couldn’t hear him most of the time. I feel bad for him but it seems like we’re watching the same thing every year. Who’s in charge of the halftime show? They seem to have a bias toward one genre.

Kendrick is fine, but that show wasn’t very good. Same with Beyoncé’s halftime show. She is much more talented than was on display. The choreography and musical transitions of both were disjointed. Saying that doesn’t make one a hater.
