Before you ever have to communicate with someone in France, there is one big mistake you can make, and most people don’t get that there is a simple solution to said mistake

Mistake: You are in France
Solution: Don’t go there in the first place

Why are the french such bastards about how you speak french

0 encouragement to learn a language that the locals will literally insult you for trying to use lmao

France:
Speak in English, they’ll ignore you.
Speak in French, they’ll give you a death stare and then ignore you.

I have family in Norway, I can confirm they speak better English than I do

All the way back in 2016 I went to Paris. I was practicing my French and every time I spoke it they hit me back with English. I took it as a cue that my French was terrible and preferred to just speak in English. Then I only spoke in English and everyone just responded with French. After a few times of that I decided to speak French back if they hit me with it, only for them to continue the conversation in English. Man are they flexing or do they just wanna feel superior? Whatever I still had fun

I once told a pair of French tourists that I couldn’t understand them…. whilst speaking fluent French.

I guess people in Turkey, Tunisia, Syria etc just don’t communicate verbally at all.
