As somebody who works in this field. I urge everybody to actually look at the grants that were awarded. Look at the proposals , the reports that were submitted during these projects and the actual outcomes. A lot here is being purposefully misconstrued to make you hate this.
This is how the US promotes US values around the world. So far, the investment has turned out pretty great for them.

All I see are ways to spread American values and soft power across the world. Some of those countries are very close to our top two enemies and others are countries they themselves are targeting to spread their influence. Seems like a great use of money imo. I’m confused why this is supposed to bother me? Am I going to see that money given back to me or used to make my life better? I highly doubt it.
Keep in mind that we are cutting funding that benefits people invulnerable societies across the world literally so that we can enrich the people in our country who are already absurdly rich.

Bids are painstakingly developed over weeks and sometimes months. Hundreds of hours go into responding to RFPs, and these ass-hats have reduced these impactful awards to project names.
