Why would you want it on a gate? All seeds or water might spill out when you swing it open.

Your country certainly has c-clamps. I’ve found them at markets in rural Syria… give that a shot for a temp solution.

Just screw the damn thing in. You’re over-thinking it.

Attaching Wall Mount Feeder Bowls to Your Gate with a Deck Clamp: A Step-by-Step Guide

As a pet owner, you want to ensure that your furry friends have access to fresh food and water at all times. Installing wall mount feeder bowls on your gate is a great way to provide them with a convenient and secure feeding solution. However, attaching these bowls to your gate can be a bit challenging, especially if you’re not familiar with DIY projects. In this article, we’ll guide you through the process of attaching wall mount feeder bowls to your gate using a deck clamp.

Materials Needed:

  • Wall mount feeder bowls
  • Deck clamp
  • Gate (wood or metal)
  • Drill with screwdriver and drill bits
  • Screws (matching the type used on your gate)
  • Weather-resistant sealant (optional)

Step 1: Choose the Right Deck Clamp

Before you start attaching the feeder bowls to your gate, you need to choose the right deck clamp. Look for a clamp that is specifically designed for gates and has a sturdy construction. Make sure the clamp is compatible with the type of gate you have (wood or metal).

Step 2: Measure the Gate

Measure the width of your gate to determine the best placement for the deck clamp. You want to make sure the clamp is securely attached to the gate and won’t come loose over time. Mark the spot where you want to attach the clamp with a piece of chalk or a marker.

Step 3: Attach the Deck Clamp

Use a drill to create holes in the gate at the marked spot. Insert the screws provided with the deck clamp into the holes and screw them in until they’re securely attached to the gate. Make sure the clamp is level and evenly spaced on both sides of the gate.

Step 4: Attach the Feeder Bowls

Once the deck clamp is attached to the gate, you can attach the feeder bowls. Make sure the bowls are securely attached to the clamp using the screws provided. If your feeder bowls have a adjustable arm, adjust it to the desired position.

Step 5: Secure the Feeder Bowls

To prevent the feeder bowls from swinging or falling off the gate, you can use weather-resistant sealant to secure them in place. Apply a small amount of sealant to the screws and the clamp, and then attach the feeder bowls.

Step 6: Final Check

Double-check that the feeder bowls are securely attached to the gate and won’t come loose over time. Make sure the clamp is still level and evenly spaced on both sides of the gate.

Tips and Considerations:

  • Make sure the deck clamp is designed for the type of gate you have (wood or metal).
  • Use weather-resistant sealant to prevent the feeder bowls from coming loose over time.
  • Consider using a gate with a built-in feeder bowl attachment system for added convenience.
  • If you have a metal gate, you may need to use a drill bit specifically designed for metal to create holes for the screws.

By following these steps and using the right materials, you can easily attach wall mount feeder bowls to your gate using a deck clamp. This will provide your pets with a convenient and secure feeding solution, and give you peace of mind knowing that their food and water are always within reach.
