All Asian parents need to see this. I wish mine thought it was ok to to not understand math. That itās ok to go to community college and not university. That itās ok that youāre not perfect; that you need time and make mistakes to learn.

I work in higher education. Cās get degrees, and what matters most is you get the degree, save some of your best work, and get a lot of experience the degree certifies. Most students have a lot going on and often work, care for family, etc.. that make all Aās really hard if not impossible. You pass and that is what matters most. Employers rarely care about your GPA or specific grades.

Yeah! At Ball State! When people ask about Indiana, this is one of the three things I tell them. There is very little to brag about otherwiseā¦

Being a C student doesn’t stop you being an A mind. It’s just a C teacher marking you. There are millions of fantastically successful children told by teachers that they are worthless.
I think Einstein said something about judging a fish by its ability to climb trees.
The difficulty is that millions of able children are told by their parents and teachers that they are worthless; the teachers for different reasons than the parents created.

If you go look at groundbreaking people, while many were high performers, many were not. Learning how to learn is more important than knowing a large volume of superfluous content. People often peak later in life.

People will excel when they find their niche and finally find motivation. Problem is many probably will never reach that point because their old grades are preventing them from getting there.
