While I appreciate Bluesky being a contemporary left(ish) alternative to Twitter, imo it’s more of the same, and a novelty for the time being. When you look at how it operates, namely, as a for profit business, it is just as susceptible to the same type of corruption that Twitter was.
Mark Cuban is just another wealthy libertarian Ayn Rand capitalist looking for a platform to push his narrative, much like Musk had and currently is. We are seeing in real time the implications of this posturing, what unchecked power it can lead to. At one point, ten to fifteen years ago, I recall Musk also being praised in liberal circles.
I would highly recommend looking into the Fediverse as a long-term, sustainable, adaptable, and safe social media alternative.
As someone who has never had a Twitter or Bluesky…
I feel like I’m living outside a bubble. Are these social networks that popular and crucial? I certainly have never found the need or want to use these sort of applications.

I love Mark Cuban. At a time that I had a high deductible plan that would pay nothing until the deductible was met, I used Cost Plus Drugs for my meds.
I am no longer in that insurance plan, but grateful for being able to afford my medication.
