This chart is based almost entirely on projected impacts from tariffs and has no basis in facts around actual tax proposals advanced by the GOP. It also assumes that the poorest 20% are benefiting from Biden’s green energy credits, which is outright false.

Honestly, this is disappointing. All this circus for like 36k cut from their mountain of money? What are they gonna do with that additional 36K? Pay for a session of golf?

What people don’t understand is how _much more significant_ the increase and decrease of tax is on the poor than it is on the rich. Yes we all claim to understand it but human perception is extremely linear.
Try to put this in perspective, you missing the rent by $200, and your bank charging overdraft fees for $5 in the negative since you’re not able to have that much of a cushion literally starts a snowball effect that is absolutely inconceivable for someone making $140k+ a year.
**what am i basing this on?**
When I used to make $140k, I literally forgot what it’s like to worry about rent or not having enough money and overdrafts happening and it became a new set of worries. Yes, because we are subjective, i _felt_ as worried and anxious which I now see as me not being grateful and mindful, but the truth is, it was in no way comparable in real life to the debilitating former scenario I described with the rent and overdrafts being literally a threat every single day
Before haters hate, I actually got fired from the $140k job, my fiancée left me, went into depression for two years, lost all my savings and I’m starting from scratch again. I make $70k a year now in a major city and I’m taking things slow. But now having made less than 6 digits early in my career and going back to it now much more advanced in my career gives me very interesting data.
I keep getting shamed by family and some friends for being worth the 6 digit jobs and not going for them but I am honestly burned out from all the politics and bullshit that came with that job. I have a much more straight forward job now and, for now, I am okay with this.
This honestly makes me laugh when I saw everyone holding signs that said “Trump will lower your taxes , Kamala will raise them”

Under Trump our taxes are going up, inflation will increase due to his tariffs, the stock market will go down since the economy will probably go into a recession.
Is this America’s Golden Age Trump keeps talking about?

If they eliminate or raise SALT cap, we (our household) will actually save like $1,500 or so.
But I don’t want the whole tax package if it means jacking up taxes on working Americans, or cutting Social Security and Medicare. And we’re a $200k household who doesn’t need a tax cut.
I don’t want a $1,500 tax cut on the front end of it means losing $200k of Social Security and Medicare on the backend, not just for us nor others.

Are we fucking great yet? Considering that even if 70% of Americans fell below the line, that 70% that get screwed by their taxes being raised. I thought that was the rallying cry for ousting a prez?

Don’t forget the higher prices all those lower income people will have to pay on everything because of the Tariffs. Thats who Trump envisions will pay down the $36 trillion deficit he keeps talking about.
Why them? Because they can do a fucking thing about it. Take it in the ass!!!

The problem here is what isn’t included on this chart.
This is assuming that you change zero buying habits and that there is a huge tariff placed on China’s goods and you keep buying them instead of lower priced items. That accounts, by ITEP (the source of this graphic), for $930 of increased taxes paid by you but also fails to mention that keeping the 2017 tax cuts for the lowest margins actually decrease your taxes.
So if just keep buying chinese products at higher prices than the same products at lower prices this graph would be accurate; but then how dumb of a consumer are you?

What happened to the rallying cry of “taxed enough already?” Tea party type crayon eaters voting for people who are going to tax me into homelessness.
**Man if only we knew this was coming since he told us this was coming for many years.**
Look guys. Its ok. The top people will spend all that extra money and it will trickle down on us. We will be showered with gold and we’ll like it!
The fact that so many people voted for this shit just tells you how much propaganda runs rampant in the US
Oh thank God. I was really worried that the rich people wouldn’t have enough money.
But with this we are sure to get some trickle down. I can’t wait till they shower us in gold again. 🙃
