Yep. Haha. I was definitely at the right age with the right sense of humor.

Tom Green was our version of Andy Kaufman. Absurdist humor meant to make us ask what we think is funny and why. The episode where he confronts his father about his former domestic abuse. I meanโฆ damn.

I suggest everyone watch This is the Tom Green Documentary. He paved the way for Jackass, Eric Andre, and so many others. He basically invented podcasting too.

I saw him in late December of 1999 when I was staying at Mont Tremblant ski resort in Canada. I was a teenager at the time and asked for his autograph. He agreed and signed a cocktail napkin โTom Green. 1992.โ

Yes.
Tom Green literally invented the genre that became Jackass, they copied so many of his shows beat for beat.
He had one the first podcasts.
Dude is so underappreciated it’s ridiculous but not surprising because his comedy was obviously very juvenile.

We watched this show every week when we were in high school, it was a weekly ritual over at this one girls house – it was funny when we were kids but I doubt it holds up very well, although some of the bits do hold up like Undercutter’s Pizza

Yes. I also think that Freddy Got Fingered is underrated

The Tom Green Show was hilarious and he really was the OG. Him painting his parentโs house while theyโre gone on vacation is one of my favorites. The paint job on his dadโs car and the statue of his dad beating his mom in the front yard are up there too. Haha!

This review of “Freddy got fingered” changed my whole impression of him. Hilarious watch if you have the time:
Yes. Tom Green’s brand of humor is very subversive. I loved it! Now I have The Bum Bum song going through my head……

Was lucky enough to see his cable access stuff in Ontario before he blew up and 16 year old me thought he was a genius.

He was one of the first people to do in the street comedy and reaction comedy. This man was a god damn genius. Mf’er I’m singing the theme song now lol.

Man, I’m glad so many commenters here have fond memories of the man and his show.
It made me want to cringe my spine out, and I was always otherwise indifferent.

No, I never understood his appeal. Wasn’t he married to Drew Barrymore briefly? BTW, Drew just turned 50. If that won’t make you feel old…..

The โ[Whereโs my Dinner Bitchโ statue skit](https://youtu.be/TkxRddtsngc?si=vYr-lkVjSgQo8MlT) always makes me laugh. Anytime he tortured his parents was great. I absolutely loved that show – which we could get a complete series on DVD or on streaming. I have his original Canadian show on DVD but it just hits different from the MTV one.

Itโs called Absurdist humour. The entire point is to be as strange and deadpan as possible: The Kids in the Hall were also Absurdist.
And yes, he was funny. Way funnier than SNL at the time, with their telegraphed jokes.

Some stuff was hilarious other stuff was pure cringe humour, he had a popular rap record a few years earlier
