How to Disassemble Your Arco Floor Lamp: A Step-by-Step Guide

The Arco Floor Lamp is a stylish and modern design that can add a touch of elegance to any room. However, sometimes it may become necessary to disassemble the lamp for various reasons, such as relocation, maintenance, or upgrading. In this article, we will provide a step-by-step guide on how to disassemble your Arco Floor Lamp safely and efficiently.

Preparation is Key

Before you start disassembling your Arco Floor Lamp, make sure you have all the necessary tools and materials ready. You will need:

  • A screwdriver (preferably a screwdriver with a magnetic tip to prevent losing small screws)
  • A wrench or pliers (for removing any stuck or stubborn parts)
  • A soft cloth or a non-abrasive surface protector (for protecting the lamp’s surface from scratches)
  • A clean and stable work surface

Step 1: Remove the Shade

Start by removing the shade from the lamp. Gently lift the shade off the lamp’s neck, and set it aside. Be careful not to touch the lamp’s internal components or electrical wiring.

Step 2: Release the Neck

Use a screwdriver to remove the screws that hold the lamp’s neck in place. You may need to apply gentle pressure to loosen the screws, but be careful not to strip them.

Step 3: Remove the Arm

Use the screwdriver or wrench to loosen and remove the arm that holds the light source. This may require some gentle twisting and pulling to release it from the lamp’s shaft.

Step 4: Disconnect the Cord

Carefully disconnect the electrical cord from the lamp’s base. You may need to use a screwdriver to release the cord clamp or a wrench to undo any screws that hold it in place.

Step 5: Remove the Base

Use the screwdriver or wrench to remove the screws that hold the lamp’s base in place. Be careful not to damage the surrounding flooring or surfaces.

Step 6: Remove any Additional Parts

Some Arco Floor Lamps may have additional parts, such as a knuckle or joints, that need to be removed. Use the screwdriver or wrench to loosen and remove these parts, taking care not to damage any internal components.

Step 7: Reassemble (If Necessary)

If you need to reassemble your Arco Floor Lamp, make sure to follow the same steps in reverse order. Be patient and take your time to ensure all parts are securely and properly reattached.

Tips and Precautions

  • Always turn off the power to the lamp before disassembling it to avoid electrical shock or injuries.
  • Be gentle when handling the lamp’s internal components to avoid damage or breakage.
  • Use a soft cloth or non-abrasive surface protector to protect the lamp’s surface from scratches.
  • Take pictures or notes as you disassemble the lamp to refer to later for reassembly.

In conclusion, disassembling your Arco Floor Lamp requires patience, attention to detail, and the right tools. By following these step-by-step instructions, you can safely and efficiently take apart your lamp and reassemble it if necessary. Remember to take your time, be gentle, and take precautions to avoid damage or injury.

I cannot for the life of me find a simple video on this. I am moving and want to make sure I move the lamp safely. I’ve done it before but years ago and can’t remember the steps here. Can anyone assist? I think there are just a few steps and the screw into the marble base naturally comes undone relatively easily. It’s a leverage thing if I remember correctly.

Online I’ve only found videos in French which detail the assembly at a very high level, nothing to take it apart. Maybe I missed those videos in my search! Any help will be much appreciated!
