Next they’ll say using “good morning” in emails is unprofessional because it assumes people want to be awake

What a dickhead response. Should’ve sent him a link to Meatspin.

The only people I use them for or use them with me are other women in the office. I would use them all the time if I could, just because theyโ€™re so silly. We all could use some more silliness in life.

I was an emoji hater until I started my new job with a big group teams chat, picking the perfect emoji to react to things with is an art form

Emojis aren’t objective professional or unprofessional.

What about Lenny faces?

I see. I apologize for my attempt at being friendly. I understand that is not welcome in this workplace. I will case all attempts at being friendly so as to not appear unprofessional in the future. Please accept my deepest, most sincere apology.

Why they are in Microsoft office and teams?

โ˜น๏ธ

People get so easily offended nowadays

As someone who worked in various professional environments, it’s pretty common to see emojis. That person is just mean.

“By you.”

Lol!!!

Dude should see my work’s Teams group.

I have been known to append :3 to my work emails… Peak professionalism

MS Teams literally has auto-reply prompts with emojis in them.

God some people are so miserable. I would so much rather work a shitty job with good people than an easy job with shitty peopleย

This is totally changing. I know executives who commonly throw emoticons, presumably because it makes the reader feel safer and more at ease

All of our office sends smiley faces at each other, it’s great.

Perfect response

But what if hes a professional emojer?

Are these professional?๐Ÿ–• ๐Ÿ’‹๐Ÿ‘

Itโ€™s 2025, iโ€™ll use smiling emojiโ€™s. Easier to covey emotion via text or emails. Sending them ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿฅฒ๐Ÿ™ƒ๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜Š chain. Get wrecked Doug.

I worked for a company once who didnโ€™t like that i didnโ€™t use emojis

Ok boomer

I use ๐Ÿ˜ธ๐Ÿ˜น all the time at work

The smiley face is absolutely required in this context because you’re ordering someone to do something, but not rudely. There is no way to convey this in written text. You’d have to rewrite the whole sentence and it would become something that wouldn’t be the same as spoken word, which is what most DMs are written in the style of (by people under the age of 60).

My response: Ah, fuck.
