Starting a band requires the ability to make friends. So I think the underground rappers are here to stay

You can say White people have no culture, but Paramore is Iconic

you know what? i agree. i appreciate angsty white boy rock

Gives you hell was also a massive banger.

Any of y’all remember the Bionicle commercial that used this song?

“Black people not singing in church and white people not having house-with-garage money will be the death of music.”

-tweet by someone called Victoria

Angsty white boy Rock is needed now more than ever

Swing Swing was a good one too

Why would someone want to spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars on equipment and lessons when you can just get a one dollar app to make beats for you and call yourself Young $hitpant$ or something. Save that guitar money for bad face tattoos!

Where the fuck are all The Fall Out Boys?!?

MAYBE YOU WONT FIND OUT WHAAAAAT I KNOW. YOU ARE THE LAST GOOD THING ABOUT THIS PART OF TOW WAH OWN.

to be that guy, those bands exist the mainstream isn’t pushing them. we should have never expected corporations to do the right thing

that being said:

Stoop Lee

Master Peace

kemar anthony

WILLIS

kandi lake and the kavities

inoha

zay lewis

Lady Heroine

Velleese

Tai Verdes

hey, nothing

can’t expect shade without planting trees

Maybe not this kind of music in particular for me, but gimme another Led Zeppelin/Fleetwood Mac type band rather than another generic white rapper.

I actually think the pendulum is swinging that way for the kids these days. I see a lot of fun kid rock bands on TikTok.

All I know is that “Gives You Hell” is a great song.

While I’m not personally a fan of the band, I can definitely appreciate the sentiment.

I’m definitely more of a ’90’s Alternative guy Myself.

Chris Cornell in all forms is someone everyone should listen to at some point.

So true, but who can afford a garage anymore?

fr! I need an Evanescence type group again, that lady’s voice is 🔥

Been saying this for years. I need another Tame Impala poste haste!

This wasn’t… no, YOU WERE IN HIGH SCHOOL IN 2005!

Remember when the toa inika had to rescue these guys from the piraka

We need another MGMT. Electric Feel? *chef’s kiss

They all pretend to be Country singers now….sad.

I’m from the Nirvana era. That was peak white man music.

And while we’re at it, bring back Bionicle too

This is still one of my favorite songs

Plenty of white people making music like this…😂

That wasn’t even their best song, or their best on that album. Or their best album. Pfft.

Their first album came out in 2002. I was 12. It was a true banger. I had it in my 3 CD changer stereo and listened to it daily.

I’m drunk on exhaustion so time to overshare!

Did a gig in my early 20s at some camp thing for college, and we covered All-American Rejects, MCR, Muse and Incubus for our setlist. The closing song for the first set is Dirty Little Secret by AAR, one of my favourite songs to sing.

Spot this smashing cutie in the crowd at the back. I used to chit chat a bit between songs to work the crowd a bit, so i think, fuck it. Shoot your shot, right?

“Hey guys, I’ve got a little bit of a confession to make. But before I do that, can I get some help? I think I’ve got a bit of a crush on one of your friends, that girl in the back in pink. Yeah, hey there! Do you mind if I ask you your name?”

She’s got a bit of a shy grin, and then shouts out “Catherine!”

“hey there Catherine. I hope you like All American Rejects, because you’re my dirty little secret and this song is for you!”

We do the song, amid some hilarious ooh-ing and aah-ing in the crowd. I get down from the stage, go over to her and ask for her number. Happy to say I got it. Setup a date for 3 weeks later. I was like, fuck yeah! She said yes!

Cue date night and… It was one of the worst dates I’ve ever been on. Just didn’t click. It was painfully and awkwardly boring.

But hey, at least for a brief moment I felt like a goddamn rockstar. And it was all thanks to AAR.

Music like this requires garages and in this economy, who can afford a HOUSE???

I always hated pop-punk bands and third wave emo bands, so I can’t completely sign off on that. I’d rather have the 90s white boys who were obvious about their black influences, like Beck, artpunk bands, or any of the ska/swing revival bands. Or early noughties post-punk bands (which actually had black and brown people).

🎶 ill tell you my dirty secret music 🎶
