As a punisher main, when I get a good raccoon it’s unstoppable. 35+ kills a game.

Rocket hate is a reddit phenomena. If you see someone hating on rocket in game just ask them if they use reddit, they’ll say yes and then you’ll know you can disregard pretty much any opinions they have moving forward

People in hero games think they can custom build their ideal team . That’s what’s limiting them. “I only lost because our Rocket sucks!!” Truth is I climbed steady to GM and my only rule has been to play MY best no matter the comp. I literally don’t care what the other 5 teamates are doing. That’s their gameplay. Imma pop off. Heal or don’t, tank or don’t, get KO or don’t. I do what I can and say GG at the end

Because rocket ult isn’t used at an optimal time most of the time.
id say rocket is good but only in very aggressive comps where you just try to steamroll your enemies, not that amazing defensively id say.
Current Cel 3 rocket main. A lot of people heal bot on him and his survivability is really good, which is what gives him such a bad rep. I’d suggest to your friend to try and play him in dive comps. Helping heroes like thing, cap and venom secure kills on rocket is so satisfying. There are times where I’ll prioritise dmg over healing because the fight needs it. His dmg is overlooked!
My friend plays rocket all the time. If you use his gun properly he’s so valuable, sometimes he out-damages our dps teammates and his heals are more than sufficient. Also, combine his ult with another offensive ult and you can tear through any healer ult…
I have had multiple rockets tell me I’m not healing enough and need to switch, while they have less than 500 damage in a three round domination. It has impacted my previous positive opinion of the character.
I literally see 10x more people trying to defend him from this “hate” than actual haters 😂😂😂
Rocket is the goat man. Can’t convince me otherwise. Will only ever play him. 🦝on🔝
It’s not the character people hate. They hate the way people play him. Too many no damage Rockets that think because they have the most heals that they are doing great. They are strategist, not healers…
I think he gets hate because it’s so easy to get value out of him so there’s a sense that Rocket mains are ‘boosted’ or whatever. He thrives in more chaotic games because his healing is so consistent and the revive is insane value for no risk. The only real skill growth he has is when to engage and do damage and a lot of players just don’t do it. Not to mention his great team up.
His ult is inferior to other supports for coordinated teams. Yes, you can cherry pick cases where 40% damage could theoretically be better but in reality it’s way less impactful.
That being said. He’s fun to play and I see why his win rate is high, he brings a lot of safe value where with other healers it’s more apparent if they are lacking.
Normal people don’t hate you for playing rocket, they hate it if you’re a no damage rocket wannabe and healbot like an npc

The only time I hate raccoon is when we need a different healer to help counter ults, but they are raccoon main and wont switch
because rocket doesn’t have quick healing like luna or invis woman. if you have a luna pocketing your tanks rocket can be really good at healing for the lower hp characters but i still think invis woman is better
It’s not the character, it’s the playerbase. I’m sorry but a lot of rocket players tend to be lazy, bare minimum ass teammates who want a free carry. Even in celestial I still see lazy rocket teammates
I love that little heal bot rat. He absolutely TEARS through tanks, esp with his ult, and he’s a literal healing bot. He’s also good for movement ngl.

No cuz why do they always tell me to switch and that Rocket is a shitty healer when I literally have double the heals of the other healer 😭😭
Rocket hate is players who don’t understand cover. They think that if they aren’t getting massive burst heals that is the healers fault for their death.
Had a peni complaining about heals round 1… Then round 2 I took peni (they were not good on defense I really didn’t want a bad peni on attack) and showed them how you can survive with slow heals if you just know when to pull back and get into cover for literally 1 second.
It’s just the same as with Spiderman. There are Rocket mains that give him a bad rep and people just don’t like seeing them in your team because there’s a higher chance of them not performing well. Rocket players are also notorious for not wanting to swap, because they can’t get over the fact that Rocket isn’t perfect for every situation.
Every rocket player has a victim complex. The second rocket players cant pick him they literally feed (this happens in celestial/eternity as well don’t just say it’s low elo). Why do you think rocket players have horrible winrates on other characters?

There’s no reason to play rocket if you don’t have a punisher, I’ll take invincibility healer ults over an amplifier in 9 out of 10 situations. But if we have a punisher the dps gains are more than the healer gains and we should be steam rolling.

I mean just look at the nature of the character. Usually provides zero damage output, no burst healing, a worst ult than the immortal ults. And the people who use him usually refuse to switch either because they want to go against the “rocket hate” or they 1 trick.
