call me crazy but i think all avatars should be 5$ like they literally are the strongest benders in the world

This cost system is broken as hell. That being said, Ghazan, Lin, pakku, ozai, Ming hua, and kyoshi.

Bumi and Azula. Place the leftover $2 in bets.

Azula is SO calculated and precise, she doesn’t really need any justification. And I feel like Bumi’s unorthodox and creative fighting style would have an unbeatable element of surprise on his opponents.

I’d take Korra, Bolin and Ming-Hua.

Korra would obviously be my firebender. She and Bolin already have experience as pro benders giving them an advantage.

I debated using Ozai since Korra’s mostly experienced as a waterbender for pro bending, but since Korra’s fire bending is top level I figured she’d adapt pretty fast. And Ming-Hua is such a strong waterbender I had to take her. Plus she’s cool and calculated. Useful in a pro-bender.

Toph, Zuko, Ming-Hua. The zone control those three would have would be nuts.

Azula, Ming-hua, Bolin.

Choice A: Mako, Bolin, Ming hua

Choice B: Zuko, Kuriva, Ming hua

Reasoning is pro bending is a sport. A sport with restricted movesets and controlled arenas. So bending ability and battle prowess aren’t going to be as important as physical ability and adherence to the rules. For that reason I’m picking younger members who have the agility to dodge attacks and react quickly.

Bumi, Ozai, and pakku may make the perfect battle team with this budget but Ozai will break the rules. Bumi can move mountains and pakku icebergs but they’re limited by the nature of pro bending and they won’t be able to keep up with the younguns. (That being said Bumi is an absolute tank, so he’s still a really good choice despite his age)

Which is how I’ve narrowed it down to these 5 people. Choice A has two pro bending veterans who have proven to be dominant. Choice B has two very capable fighters who can be dominant after being taught the rules and learning the quirks of pro bending.

Then there’s Ming Hua. It was between her and kya and I think Ming Hua simply sweeps kya on the agility front, however I do think it’s necessary to point out the downsides. I think Ming Hua would absolutely break the rules, but I think she’s smart enough to be underhanded and subtle about it, it could be bad if she’s found out. Furthermore she has the water tentacle arms, and knowing how corrupt the sport is I wouldn’t be surprised if a protest by other teams with some money under the table would straight up cause that key part of her move set to be banned. There’s actually an IRL case of this, I don’t think there was bribery involved, but a guy with a prostetic foot had his specific prosthetic banned because it was too good at kicking.

I think the issue with this list is that it simply lacks water benders, especially around that 3-4 dollar range, I think adding some of the major and minor villains of LoK would fix that and give me some better options, although I would probably still risk it with Ming Hua. She’s just too OP not to use.
