They should have had much more lore about Gene Therapies and Cybernetics in the game.
Hell, I still think they should have had one of the cybernetics experts who worked on the Lazarus project survive and join the ship. Wouldn’t even need to be a squad mate. Just a character that works alongside Chakwas and is responsible for Shepard’s physical therapy and any upgrades they want to make. It would be interesting to see Chakwas interact with someone as well.
Or if you did want to make them a squad mate, they’d be a good replacement for Jacob.
