I used to have long stretches of time I could binge RPG games when I was a kid. I was immersed and everything seemed like a genuine adventure trying to figure out problems. Now, I get about 1-2 hours a day tops before I have to be an adult and when I come back which is sometimes a week or two later, I’ve completely forgotten what I was doing and end up googling solutions for puzzles that take to long so I can just move on. However the same games seem so fun when I watch it on youtube on the commute to work. I can literally buy any game I want, it’s just they end up never getting played.

For some games, it really is like that.

Call of Duty, Apex, and essentially all battle royales.

I’m 22 and I feel this.

Nah, I’m 39 and I can’t enough. Probably never will. Stop buying games and start completing them.

Sparking Zero for me rn, it was fun regardless in the beginning since nobody was good but unless I’m playing with friends everyone online seems to only use meta characters even in unranked

37 and loving the state of gaming. After the kids go to to bed or at school I get the system up and running. I try to only play new games and not play games I’ve played already…..although Skyrim is constantly sneaking back in there.

33 and I feel this. It’s difficult to even pick what to play more often than not. There are times where I’ll scroll through the list of options for 20-30 minutes and eventually I’ll just give up and not even play anything because I can’t decide.

Although I did recently play (and finally beat) Shadow of the Colossus and that was a cool experience because that game gave 13-year-old me absolute hell and I struggled with it. It was such a beautiful, peaceful game. Loved every bit of it.

22 and feeling this

Eerily accurate

The older I get, the more guilt I feel when I play a game because there’s always something else that needs to get done

43 yr old here. You play what you like. For me it’s a lot of the same (currently PUBG, Civ, No Man’s Sky, Skyrim, GTA) unless something like GTA 6 comes out.

I just don’t play a huge variety and when I do I beat them then go back to my solids.

I’m 27 and I got a ps5 a few months ago but I just don’t have that excitement to play lol and every time I do, I play for like 30 mins and I’ll get bored. I’m playing good games too (horizon, sm2, gow) but idk I’d rather read or watch a show/movie and chill on my free time.

Playing multiplayer only games has me feeling like this but playing single player only games is doable

Me every time I try to play COD. People are so good, and I’m lucky to have a positive K/D😔

me with every games ive stopped playing after few months.

36 and I thought this was only me

It’s like the dopamine while playing just isn’t there anymore and i fucking hate it.

Man you guys must play bad games. I enjoy gaming now as much as I did when I started as a kid. I don’t play competitive games anymore that definitely help I’m 37 btw lmao

TLOU2

Play Nier Automata

Thank me later

Every game tbh rn

Yep. This hit the feels.

Every. Single. Game.
For long games, I struggle the first 5-7 hours, but eventually break and I cant let off. I remember with mass effect, I liked the start to the story and gameplay, but couldn’t hold my self to play the first few hours. Now it’s my top 3 favorite games!

Crash bandicoot trophies

Not looking forward to this at all if true 😭

Just started my first DS3 playthrough in over 6 years. It’s an absolute blast and I’m gonna play it all day tomorrow as well lol

41 here, stop online gaming a while ago, and I still love gaming. 🤘🏻

Let it die

This 100%

I can be a great husband and Father .. or I can get good. But both, I don’t have time for

me when warthunder

Dead By Daylight

if you feel this way at any age, it’s more likely related to other things. put your phone in the other room, allow yourself to be immersed, stop scrolling, and play the game. you’re just distracted. the phone is turbo dopamine. it’s bad for you.

I feel… Validated. Not alone even?

Black myth Wukong ngl

Currently Warframe. Probably the 6th time I’ve returned to the game and I really want to enjoy it but just can’t.

Play the game on easy.

I’m 35 and don’t feel this way, sorry that happened to you.

A truer meme hasn’t been created…

50 year old gamer here. Been doing it for over 40 years and since Atari. IMHO, console gaming experiences have never been better than in the last 5-10 years. Graphics have finally caught up with great gameplay and storytelling for the most immersive experiences. Games titles like TLOU, Uncharted, RDR2, Horizon, Demons Souls, Elden Ring, Ghost of Tsushima and many others are some great examples. The future of gaming is bright and this old guy is excited to just keep playing!!

I’m 30 and i don’t feel like that at all

I’m 37. Don’t at all feel this…

Even though I’m 21 I used to feel like this a lot of the time, but now i play more games I really want to play.

Sometimes when a game is tedious and bothersome you can recognize that as a part of the game, it could be a flaw of it, a bothersome mission. I’m not saying skill issues but rather uninteresting parts.

and instead I’ve been playing games I’ve always wanted to play and it’s more fun and exciting even if I play for a bit. Like the bayo trilogy or right now Nier.

I think you mean online required to play versus single player offline games lol

– a 34 year old.

Rainbow Six Siege

I’m actually able to buy my own games and consoles and have no one talk down to me about it, I enjoy playing games at 30 more coz I can get exactly what I want, utterly enjoying space marines 2.

for the emperor,, the green emperor,, Papa Nurgle.

I just bought like 15 games on the steam sale… I’ll probably complete less than half of them…
