Hey! Don’t knock it! Every 90’s action movie has THIS laptop opened on the hood of a cop car as they try to negotiate with the bad guys. It has lore!
Now the proud owner of a laptop that was made before I was born (at least I believe this to be the case from my googling). Big fan of the brightness and saturation? physical toggles on the side of the screen.
Some collector somewhere will buy that for enough that you can get a usable new laptop.

It has a 386SL (which is a 386SX for laptops) and 2-8 (?) Megabytes of RAM.
You can boot DOS on it and play games!

Back then, somebody I knew had a laptop possibly older than this. Instead of a HDD, it had a 5-1/2 inch floppy disk with the OS and a text editor software.
My grandpa still uses one of these for all of his email communication, the thing is like a brick

No Wi-Fi, no Ethernet, no USB. Even if you could find some add-on card for one of those, who knows if you could get an OS / driver to recognize it. That’s a nice doorstop.
