It’s basically joking about how guys might say they don’t have a favorite color, but if they do, it’s not just “green”, its something super specific like “the deep green of moss after it rains” or “the exact shade of emerald dust.” Guys don’t go broad; they go weirdly niche.

For a long time I said I never had a favourite colour and only recently realised it’s because my favourite colour is brown and when I answer that my favourite colour is brown the average response is “ew, why”

You know, I used to rib my older brother for this cus he’s an artist and works in film, quite prolifically, but could never tell me his fav color.

My favorite color is purple.
Blue, except specifically:
1. Stygian blue (an impossible color under normal circumstances)
2. Phthalo blue
3. Cobalt blue
That green is the green of her eyes, it’s the green of the hills of Eyre after the rain and before sundown; it’s the green of the velvet of her dress sliding down her pale skin. It’s also the green of emeralds hiding in a cup of wine, the green of grasshoppers under the sun of May; the green of the oak leaves silently falling on her grave on a cold January morning.
When I asked my dad as a kid he told me “forest green” which absolutely is a green, I just found it funny because he’s a logger.
