I didn’t think i could still be shocked at what the police in the U.S. do, but guess i’m wrong.
A 2 MONTH OLD BABY! 2 MONTHS! And then lie that the mom was holding a knife.
This is insanity.
Edit: So this comment blew up. And my takeaway from it is sad, that so many people agree with me. That this is reality. That a baby can get shot by a cop.
25 weeks to become an LEO in Missouri compared to most european countries where you train for 2 years before you would even have the chance to carry a firearm.
Qualified immunity needs to end, but that’s not likely anytime soon…

How does that even happen? Like how does a gun even get pointed at a baby? Wtf is wrong with cops
If you have a problem and call the police – now you have two problems.
This shouldn’t even require an inquiry for job status, only for charges. This level of malicious negligence should be immediate termination. Why would you be pointing a fucking gun AT SOMEBODY HOLDING A BABY?!?!

Police training seminars taught by self-styled ‘experts’ are a growing industry, one that is contracted for by an increasing number of departments.
They teach that *every* citizen encountered in response to a request for assistance should be assumed to be an armed hostile threat, and treated as such.
This sort of tragedy is far too often the result.

The firefighter that was there knew that the cop was acting like a dick while I was crying my eyes out.
As of now the mental health departments are beyond overbooked.

So I know the story of cops being a piece of shit is not unique to us, but if I may, I’d like to share some shit they have done in recent times.
One cop sent nude photos of women to his phone. He got the nudes by convincing the women he needed to see their registration on their phone. Of course he shared the Pics with his cop buddies. Oh by the way? Some of the girls were underage.
Two incidents of dogs being left in a car during hot summer days happened this summer. These were K9 unit dogs. Not only was this cruel, but this could make solving crimes harder due to lack of dogs.
An elderly woman (Whom was black, which some of you may like to know.) heard noises outside her home. As she was elderly, she called the cops for safety and to possibly find what was going on. At some point, for some reason the women said “I rebuke you in the name of Jesus.” The cops? Naturally told her to get down on the ground and IMMEDIATELY fired at her. She died.
Oh and do I need to mention Michael Brown?
At this point, I just want the fucking cops to learn the definition of compassion.

“Ultimately armed with a knife” is code for: we couldn’t see one on her, but when we dug into the back of the drawer of the nightstand we found a tiny knife-like object inside a manicure folio; we therefore were completely justified in use of force.

I work at a police training academy in NY, and its getting harder and harder to not see everyone there as absolute pieces of shit. Im even friends with some of them there, and it’s got me rethinking my entire friendships with them

Why is it always Balls to the Wall, Adrenaline, Steroid Juicehead energy, when they approach a home after a resident has called. It won’t be any reform under the Red Regime, and will only get worse if given full immunity.
Missouri isn’t hiding any longer. About twenty years ago I was warned about Missouri pulling over people by racial profiling. AARP sent the post card. Warning drivers about which states to avoid while driving. I believed them. And still do. The paramilitary police force is above the law. So are republican leaders. Protect the civilian at all costs.
