Am I the only one?

I got into an argument one time with a friend precisely because of this. I was telling her about a very serious issue, and she kept looking at me and smiling, so for a second I thought she was not taking me seriously, didn’t care or wasn’t even listening to me.

I know some people don’t know how to react in those situations, but it’s definitely not the right call hahaha

When I’m nervous I smile and agree to everything really quickly and recently someone made a self depreciating joke and I smiled and agreed way too quickly 😭😭😭😭
