Opinions on Jennifer Gardner aside, Jose Andres World Central Kitchen is an INCREDIBLE organization. They were in WNC within a day or tow, slinging food out of closed restaurants, helping people get water, helicoptering meals out, etc. They gave out thousands of meals, and they’re still here. I was on both sides of the operation (getting meals and volunteering) and they do some really good work.
The PR here is more for the organization. It’s extremely common to publicize celebrity involvement to promote your organization. I don’t see any issue here.
Loosely related—I was in one of ABC’s parades at Disneyland back in 2003. I was positioned right next to the Alias car (with Jen Garner & her costar). We were in band uniforms, and were delayed, so ended up standing in the hot California sun for a while. We were just a bunch of band plebs standing next to celebrities….Jen insisted we take her personal waters out of her cooler in the car, since they could just bring her more 💜 so yes, Jen garner is *my* American sweetheart 😌
Her and Ben were out feeding homeless a while ago..even if it is a photo op, it’s a lot more than a lot of other people are doing behind a keyboard.

What’s with all the hate? Jennifer Gardner seems like a genuinely nice person, she consistently helps others and volunteers for many causes.
People say don’t show pictures of helping. If they helped & didn’t post pics people would be like oh it’s a lie until I see pics. Y’all are never happy. And maybe one person’s posting of good acts gets someone else to do good acts. Quit being such negative Nancies.

She’s walking the walk, not just giving out thoughts and prayers. I can’t say the same for myself. Good on her even if this is a PR thing.
I can understand the suspicions due to her being a celebrity, but I think she’s being genuine. And even if she wasn’t, victims are still receiving help.
Some of these comments make me so sad. We’ve become way too detached from each other. I understand she’s a celebrity and it’s easy to just assume this is a PR stunt. She has enough money to come back from this, why should we care? She has so much money she should be throwing handfuls of it in the streets!
It’s ridiculous. She’s a human who just went through a traumatic event, first and foremost. Shame on you for lacking any compassion. To those who can’t seem to comprehend that, may the same fortune find you tenfold.

World Central Kitchen is awesome and deserves as much publicity as they can get. They’re doing incredible work and helping impacted communities.

She’s grown on me and she’s a good down to earth person. She focuses on being a good role model for her kids and not selling crazy stuff like GP. She is one of my favorite people in Hollywood right now. Sandra Bullock still my fav 😀.

I do think she is doing this genuinely, she is known for volunteering and lost someone in this fire but I will forever have some reservations with her after that round table with Regina King where she VERY pointedly asked where her family was from when Regina King was talking about being an LA Native. It smacked of weirdness and dog whistles whether she meant to or not.
