But…isn’t this the Free Market working as intended? I’m sure if the need is great enough, a competitor will enter the marketplace and offer lower rates and better coverage.

That escalated quickly.
If you have your foot amputated, why do you need a replacement Achilles tendon? And why they hell is it a metal spike?? Is this person a velociraptor ffs?
Oh, now I know. He needs the metal spike to attach the bootstraps he’s gonna pull up, amirite?

Asking a conservative to understand how anything in society is connected politically is like asking a chimpanzee to do your taxes; main difference is the chimpanzee will at least be mentally stimulating to talk to.

Was the whole ‘Americans are against universal healthcare because they like and want to keep their private plans’ just straight up gaslighting? It truly sounds like no one likes this system except the insurers.

He has the top tier plan which means anything below the belt is chopped off.
Kind of feels like a prank on the part of the hospital to spike him like that. Maybe he complained about the women doctors.

If you have to pay $2000 in deductibles and then pay $2000 out of pocket, then isn’t that a $4000 deductible?
I’m not understanding his description.

My employer also uses united. I just had to sign up for coverage because we were using marketplace insurance, and the future of that marketplace is not secure. We used the marketplace because the cost of United to cover myself, my wife, and our son came to close to 1200 a month. We aren’t rich. ACA had us covered for similar benefits at half that.
Fuck insurance companies, fuck republicans, and fuck you if you are one. You’re hurting my family.

Sounds like a bum looking for a government handout. If you need healthcare, you should have saved your own money to pay for it instead of asking for charity from other people. I have UHC. Why should my premiums go to pay for your healthcare? Pull yourself by the bootstraps and be a man.

I hate the system I voted for!
For me, I’ve paid about 7500 over the last few years for a few physicals and colonoscopy. Great deal!
I’d be 100% ok knowing that my premiums went to care instead of part of a $10M salary and billions more to shareholders.

Imagine sending an amputee home once the anesthesia wore off!?
You be in hospital and rehab for weeks!
Imagine the wound care!?
I genuinely do not understand how that is allowed, it is beyond barbarically negligent and cruel.

What I heard that hit me hardest during Thanksgiving was : “I KNOW what it means to be a republican”
It’s just such a concise thing to hear.
It’s not about policy, it’s not about what’s happening in the world or what bills get or dont get passed.
It’s like religion. You put your faith into something because of what you believe it means.
There’s no evidence that can counter that.
There’s a fundamental mis(lack of)understanding of what voting means, what politics is, and how the government even works.
