I am posting this all over the place. This is the absolute, best and clearest by the numbers explanation of how we’re getting screwed by the healthcare system. We pay far more than any other country and get far less.

I worked at one of the largest PBMs (Pharmacy Benefit Managers) and I honestly couldn’t believe what I heard in meetings when they talked about patient access to drugs. They literally applauded denying access using the cover of ‘cost saving’. Not even trying to hide it.

Maybe this should be a group affair rather than a lone vigilante. The French Revolution wasn’t just one guy, after all.
Just my two cents.

Costs are going to go up because WE are going to be footing the bill to “protect” these guys now….. yes, we are going to be paying to protect the ones killing us. And not necessarily with money, just higher body count.

His annual salary is $25m. Witty’s compensation in 2023 was a 12.8% increase from 2022, and he was the highest-paid CEO among US-listed health insurers that year. He made 352 times the median salary of a UnitedHealth employee, which was $66,821 in 2023.
Witty has a net worth of approximately $42 million. He was previously the CEO of GlaxoSmithKline from 2008 to 2017, and was knighted in 2012 for his services to the UK pharmaceutical industry

The reddit hivemind is so strange. What did people expect?
Not a single law has changed, all the economical incentives are exactly as they were. This is the only logical outcome.
The US voters repeatedly voted out any attempt to switch to a more sane healthcare system, even when it was only a timid reform.

It would be unfortunate if someone felt as though that was the evil and did something about it. It would be really unfortunate for that person bc they’d have to explain how they time traveled bc as I recall we are definitely having dinner that evening in another state far far away.

Nothing will change, the internet is applauding the CEO killer but you cut off the head two grow in its place. This country voted for Trump who will only make things cost more with his idiocy.
