I’m a Dane and we are all livid that they dare even talk about annexing part of our commonwealth and…eh….force some of my compatriots to give up their birth right citizenship. Like Ukrainians under Russian occupation.

I went to Greenland a couple years ago, and would love to visit again. It’s shameful and embarrassing what my government is doing, we should be honoring our friendships instead of destroying them. Greenland is just a beautiful place and people were so friendly and welcoming. The only thing Greenland should join is CONCACAF!

I know vast majorities of Canadians stand with them. This shit of suggesting we just join the states cause “it would be easier” really struck a chord with me for one (and I’m sure many others). Disrespecting a nations sovereignty is a massive insult to say the least, especially from all accounts the population has no interest in giving up said sovereignty.
Sadly, I see more protesters there than in many protests in American cities, despite the much smaller population.
Imagine having to protest to support your own government against another country, cos their leader is just blatantly lying, saying you all want to be annexed.

That is a beautiful fight. In a country with such a small population, they got what looks to be over 1000 people. That’s 2% of the country.
Plus, lots of the population are kids who probably wouldn’t be protesting much, anyway. As a percentage of adults, it’s probably much more.

It’s so insane what happens happening now:
1. Increasingly senile, 78 year old guy with a hard on for authoritarians has some stupid/dangerous idea pop into his head.
2. Elected Republicans and all of conservative media shout jawohl, click their heals and either support the insane idea blindly or try to spin it so it’s less insane.
3. No elected R or member of “conservative media” actually tells the truth, because saying anything overtly or implicitly critical of anything Trump is NOT PART OF THE BUSINESS MODEL. Their audience just wants to hear how great Trump is. So that’s what those performers do.
Many of these insane ideas fizzle because most all of Trump admin is more about tabloid and talk radio media ops than actual substance, but you never know now.
* 1st Trump admin was a raving lunatic surrounded by some serious staff that managed the chaos and killed nearly all the dumb ideas.
* 2nd Trump admin is staffed with sycophants and psychopaths: there are few to no adults to say no.
